SGM Enterprises is a company owned by Sarah Granados-Misagal that offers the Lola Aning line of pugon baked cookies and the Yongi Sukang Waray line of cocosap vinegar. SGM Enterprises started out as the El Yonge Josh Enterprises with its own brand of Sukang Waray in 2006, the co-owner of which was Mrs. The El Yonge Josh company, with the aid of an acetator provided by the DOST through their SET-U
P Technology Transfer in 2012 and DTI aid for labels and other entrepreneurial forums (since 2012), started producing the Atsara ni Lola Aning, El Yonge Cocosap Vinegar and the Kinikitikotan (later renamed into Hot & Spicy Cocosap Vinegar). El Yonge later became a part of BAHANDI Inc., a local business group, during 2012. After the super-typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) Mrs. Sarah started her own business with her flagship traditional cookie recipe handed down through generations in her family thus SGM Enterprises was born (2014). This came to be because after the typhoon the ingredients needed for atsara and vinegar were hard to come by. The owner became an organizing member (2014) of the Leyte Treats of Ethnic Foods and Crafts Association in the hope of being able to seek the support of NGOs and INGOs aide to the local businesses after the typhoon. INGOs such as OXFAM, CARE Philippines, USAID, Tzu Chi Buddhist foundation, U.S. - Philippine Society had a big part in helping the company regain and improve business after super-typhoon Yolanda. By mid-2016 SGM Enterprises became a Board of Director of Team COOP, a cooperative highlighting locally made products of quality initiated by CCDLAO, a livelihood project of Tacloban city. Eventually the El Yonge products were absorbed into the enterprise and is now part of the product line-up of SGM. As of 2017’s first quarter SGM Enterprises produces Yongi Sukang Waray, Kinikitikotan, Cinnamon Cookies, Cornstarch Cookies, and Atsara ni Lola Aning. There are plans of adding Butter Cookies to this product line-up. The company employs 15 people, 4 of whom are permanent employees and the other 11 job order-based. Orders can be placed directly to Mrs. Sarah on her phone or email. Alternatively, the Pasalubong Centres located in the Astrodome also sells SGM’s products.
