This magnificent 10-inch by 50-inch edible ceremonial cake brings the epic story of Ibalong to life. It features the legendary Tandayag, Linsa, and the serpent-form Oryol, beautifully intertwined with the spirit and purpose of HURNO.
Rising majestically at its center is Mayon Volcano—a beacon of fire symbolizing our burning passion for culture, Bicolano pride, excellence, and greatness.
More than an edible masterpiece, this original concept by Chef Alfred Fernandez Nimo represents the passing of the flame—the sharing of knowledge, skills, and artistry among fellow Bicolanos and the continuing legacy entrusted to the next generation of aspiring bakers and entrepreneurs.
The ceremonial cake was baked with passion by the members of the Anislag National High School Young Bakers Club, under the guidance of their mentor, Val Kelmer Lominario Mirafuentes .
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the generous sponsors who helped bring this masterpiece to life : RFM for providing the flour, Hicaps Mktg. Corp. for the frosting, and Sugar King for the vibrant food colors.
The ceremonial cake-cutting was led by Councilor Konsi Lajara Charlton Lajara, representing Mayor Hisham Ismail Mayor Hisham Ismail , together with Bicol Bakers Club President Marinell Baldano, Ibalong Executive Committee Ibalong Festival 2026 ᜁᜊᜎᜓᜅ᜔ Co-Chairman Councilor Alan Alan O.
