Cheese Crackers
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp paprika or chili powder (optional, for flavor)
2 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese (or any sharp cheese)
2–3 tbsp cold water
For Topping (optional):
Sea salt, sesame seeds, or grated cheese
Instructions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and paprika.
Add cold butter and rub into the flour until crumbly.
Mix in shredded cheese.
Add cold water gradually until a dough forms.
Wrap and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.
Roll Out the Dough:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Roll the chilled dough thin (about 2 mm) on a floured surface.
Cut into small squares, rectangles, or fun shapes.
Add Toppings:
Place the cut crackers on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Brush lightly with water or butter.
Sprinkle sea salt or grated cheese on top.
Prick each cracker with a fork to prevent puffing.
Bake:
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden and crisp.
Let cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
Store:
Keep in an airtight container to maintain crunchiness.
