The heart grows weary when it compares its pace with others. We say to ourselves, “I am late… I am behind in my plans, behind in my healing, behind in my life.”
But hear this:
In Christ, you are never behind.
You may not see it, but sometimes the place you stand right now is exactly where He wants you to be. A pause in your plans may be the very ground where He shapes your heart. A delay may be His way of preparing you for what only He can see ahead.
And even if where you are now feels like the result of your own mistakes, take courage. God’s Word assures us, “We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Your failures do not cancel His faithfulness. What the enemy means for harm, He bends toward redemption.
Do not despise the small steps, nor the slow ones. The greater tragedy is not walking slowly, but walking without Him. To reach the goal yet miss the Giver is to find the gift empty. To move forward with Christ, even in stumbling steps, is far greater than running swiftly without Him.
His presence is richer than success.
True progress is not about the speed, but surrender.
The world will shout, “Achieve more, go faster, climb higher!”
Yet Christ calls softly, “Come closer.”
In Luke 10:38–42, Martha focused on doing, while Mary focused on being. Jesus affirmed Mary had chosen “the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
The good portion is choosing Christ above all else, valuing relationship over activity, and learning to rest in Him. Earthly success fades, but intimacy with Jesus endures. Those who sit at His feet and seek His presence are receiving a reward that will never be lost.
By this, we learn the secret:
in this journey, the prize is never the crown;
but the King who places it on our head.
Praise be to God through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
