My mother created her own recipe of LECHE FLAN years ago. Friends, relatives and neighbors would order from her on special occasions. I'm not a big fan of sweets because of the 'UMAY' taste I get after eating some. One day, I found a mini version of my mother's leche flan on our dining table and she said I can have it as it was just 'sobra' from her order. Since I was too hungry and too lazy to go
out to grab a snack, I ended up eating my mother's leche flan for the very first time. Not that I'm not a big fan of her cooking, in fact I consider my mother as one of the best cooks ever. Fortunately, for myself, I inherited her traits (modesty aside). Anyway, to my surprise and to my sincerest delight, I've consumed all of the leche flan to the last drop of the syrup and what amazed me the most was I never tasted the "umay' afterwards. Oh, by the way, it has macapuno on top of it. THE SWEETNESS is just PERFECT that it BLENDS well with MACAPUNO. I even love another topping which is GARBANZOS! Since then on, I can devour even 1 llanera in one sitting! Being an explorer when it comes to food, I've eaten my mother's leche flan (with or without toppings) with coffee or tea as snacks and even as PULUTAN with beer of course! I know that LECHE FLAN is one of the favorite desserts of Filipinos, but it can also be served as snacks!
