A young girl asked an elderly woman:

"Do I really need friends in life?"

The elderly woman responded:
"Yes. Life is truly very rough. There should be someone by your side with whom you can talk for hours without feeling that they would judge you; on whose shoulders you can cry, one who will give you emotional support. When no one will be there for you, they should be there. One who should help you share the good times and overcome the difficult ones."

The young girl asked:
"Is it true that a fake friend is more dangerous than an enemy?"

The elderly woman responded:
"Yes. It's because you know who your enemy is and you're not going to let them get close to you. But a false friend is pretending while getting your trust. They find out your vulnerabilities, your secrets and your dreams. They know which button to press and how to stab you in the back."

The young girl asked:
"How do I avoid being surrounded by fake friends?"

The elderly woman paused for a short moment, then asked,
"Between a small garden and a forest, which one has more snakes and scorpions?"

The young girl responded:
"The forest, sure!"

The elderly woman smiled, and then said:
"Good! When you keep your circle of friends small like a small garden, the less snakes and scorpions you have to worry about, even rats. The fewer people you hang out with, the fewer problems you have to deal with. When I was young, I had a very big group of friends. But as I grew old and wise with experience, my circle of friends became smaller. I realized that quality outweighs quantity when it comes to friendship. Donโ€™t fool yourself by holding onto the illusion that everyone is your friend. You may have numerous acquaintances, but real friends will always be just a few people you love and trust. The best way to prevent yourself from falling into the fake friend trap is by being more mindful about the size of your circle."

It is a question we too can ask ourselves: what do people say about Jesus? In general, good things. Many see him as a great teacher, as a special person: good, righteous, consistent, courageousโ€ฆ But is this enough to understand who He is, and above all, is it enough for Jesus? It seems not. If He were simply a person from the past. (โ€ฆ) He would merely be a good memory of a bygone time. And for Jesus, this will not do. Therefore, immediately afterwards, the Lord asks the disciples the decisive question: โ€œBut who do you โ€” you! โ€” say that I am?โ€ (v. 15). Who am I for you, now? Jesus does not want to be a key figure from the past; He wants to be an important person for you today, of my today; not a distant prophet: Jesus wants to be the God who is close to us!

Christ, brothers and sisters, is not a memory of the past, but the God of the present. If He were merely an historical figure, to imitate Him today would be impossible: we would find ourselves faced with the great chasm of time, and above all, faced with his example, which is like a very high, unscalable mountain; (โ€ฆ) Instead, Jesus is alive: let us remember this. Jesus is alive, Jesus lives in the Church, He lives in the world, Jesus accompanies us, Jesus is by our side, He offers us His Word, He offers us His grace, which enlighten and refresh us on the journey. A couple are on vacation in America,

The husband goes out for a walk, leaving his wife reading her book on the balcony.

He passes a western outfitter, heโ€™s always fancied a pair of cowboy boots and it turns out theyโ€™re on sale so he buys a pair and wears them back to the room. Heโ€™s gets into the room and highly delighted with himself asks his wife. Well, what do you think?

What do I think about what. Says his wife barely looking up from her book.

Annoyed, he goes into the bathroom. Strips off everything except for the boots.

Steps out and asks again.

Well? What do you think now?

She looks him up and down and replies.

What do I think?

Itโ€™s hanging down, it was hanging down yesterday and itโ€™ll be hanging down tomorrow.

Our hero replies. It hanging downn because itโ€™s looking at my new boots.

Should have bought a hat. His wife replies returning to her book.

For the first time, a young woman goes to her boyfriend's house to meet family over a family dinner. What happened next will shock you.

A woman goes to her boyfriend's parents' house for dinner.
This is to be her first time meeting the family and she is very nervous. They all sit down and begin eating a fine meal.

The woman is beginning to feel a little discomfort, thanks to her nervousness and the broccoli casserole. The gas pains are almost making her eyes water.

Left with no other choice, she decides to relieve herself a bit and lets out a dainty fart.

It wasn't loud, but everyone at the table heard the pouf.

Before she even had a chance to be embarrassed, her boyfriend's father looked over at the dog that had been snoozing at the woman's feet and said in a rather stern voice, "Skippy!".

The woman thought, "This is great!" and a big smile came across her face.

A couple of minutes later, she was beginning to feel the pain again.

This time, she didn't even hesitate. She let a much louder and longer fart rip.

The father again looked and the dog and yelled, "Dammit Skippy!"

Once again the woman smiled and thought "Yes!".

A few minutes later the woman had to let another one rip.

This time she didn't even think about it.

She let rip a fart that rivaled a train whistle blowing!

Once again, the father looked at the dog with disgust and yelled, "Dammit Skippy, get away from her before she sh*ts on you!"

Did you hear about the Lone Ranger and Tonto was camping out in the desert when Lone Ranger got bitten by a snake on his p***s while taking a p*e?

Lone Ranger told Tonto to ride into town and bring back a doctor.

Tonto rode into town but the only town doctor was busy with a case.

โ€œHey doc, my buddy Lone Ranger got bitten by a snake, Can you come with me?โ€

The doctor replied, โ€œsorry, young man but Iโ€™m busy. All you have to do is suck out the poison where he got bittenโ€.

Tonto rode back to Lone Ranger and Lone Ranger asked Tonto.

โ€œTonto, I see no doctor, did he tell you what to do?โ€

It was time for Father John's Saturday-night bath.

The older nun who normally assisted in this task was a little under the weather, so she instructed Sister Magdalene, a young nun, on how to prepare the bathwater and towels.

Sister Magdalene was also instructed not to look at Father John's nakedness if she could help it, do whatever she's told to do, and pray.

The next morning the old nun asked the sister how the bath had gone.

"Oh Sister," said the young nun dreamily, "I've been saved!"

"Saved? How did that come about?" asked the old nun.

"Well, when father John was soaking in the tub, he asked me to wash him. And while I was washing him, he guided my hand down between his legs where he said the lord keeps the key to heaven."
"Did he now?" the old nun said.

Sister Magdalene continued, "And Father John said that if the key to heaven fit my lock, the portals of heaven would open to me, And I would be assured of salvation and eternal peace. And then Father John guided his key to heaven into my lock."

"Is that a fact?" said the old nun.

"At first it hurt terribly, but father John said that the pathway to salvation was often painful and that the glory of god would soon swell my heart with ecstasy. And it did, it felt so good being saved."

"That wicked old devil!" said the old nun.

"He told me it was Gabriel's Horn, and I've been blowing it these past forty years!"

In the window is a large parrot and when it sees her it yells โ€œYou're uglyโ€.

The woman takes great offense to this and decides to speak to the pet shop owner.

โ€œEvery time I pass your window your parrot shouts โ€œYou're uglyโ€ at me.โ€ โ€œ I need you to do something about itโ€!

The pet shop owner apologizes and promises it won't happen again.

The next morning the woman passes the window, the parrot is still there.
