𝐅𝐮𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲!🎉

𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐱𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐞 is a prescription medication classified as a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI). It is available in an extended-release oral formulation and is approved for the treatment of ADHD in children aged 6 years and older, adolescents, and adults. It is intended to help manage symptoms that may affect attention, behavior, and everyday activities.

𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Viloxazine primarily inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter that plays an important role in attention, alertness, and impulse control. It may also influence serotonin signaling in the brain. However, its exact mechanism of action in treating ADHD is not yet fully understood.

Norepinephrine helps regulate communication between nerve cells and supports brain functions involved in concentration and behavioral control. By affecting norepinephrine and serotonin signaling, viloxazine may influence neural processes associated with ADHD symptoms. Further research is still needed to fully understand how these effects contribute to its therapeutic benefits.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐈𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬
By increasing the availability of norepinephrine in the brain, viloxazine may help regulate processes associated with attention, alertness, and behavioral control. Norepinephrine plays an important role in brain functions related to concentration and impulse regulation, which are often affected in individuals with ADHD. Through its effects on neurotransmitter signaling, viloxazine may help improve focus, manage impulsive behaviors, and support daily functioning. However, its exact therapeutic mechanism in ADHD is not yet fully understood, and treatment responses may vary from person to person. Regular follow-up with a healthcare professional is important to monitor treatment effectiveness, side effects, and overall progress.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬
Common side effects of viloxazine include decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fatigue, drowsiness, irritability, and insomnia or difficulty sleeping. Not everyone experiences these effects, and their severity may differ from person to person. Consult a healthcare professional if side effects persist, worsen, or interfere with daily activities.

𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫⚠
Viloxazine should be taken only as prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional, and patients should follow the recommended dosage instructions carefully. Inform your healthcare provider about other medications or supplements you are taking to help prevent potentially harmful drug interactions. Patients and caregivers should also monitor for unusual mood or behavioral changes, including suicidal thoughts or behaviors, and seek immediate medical assistance if these occur.

𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲!🎉

𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧 is a prescription medication and a synthetic form of 𝒕𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒉𝒚𝒅𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒐𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏 (𝑩𝑯𝟒), a substance that occurs naturally in the body. It acts as a specialized helper molecule to support enzyme function, helping lower blood levels of 𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒚𝒍𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒆 in individuals with 𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒚𝒍𝒌𝒆𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒂 (𝑷𝑲𝑼). Rather than targeting genetic material or altering DNA, sapropterin operates directly at the protein level by binding to and stabilizing the body's natural 𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒚𝒍𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒉𝒚𝒅𝒓𝒐𝒙𝒚𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒆 (𝑷𝑨𝑯) enzyme.

Through this stabilization, sapropterin restores enzymatic capacity, allowing excess phenylalanine to be safely converted into 𝒕𝒚𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆 an essential compound for overall health and neurotransmitter production. By keeping phenylalanine buildup in check, it helps protect vital organs, particularly the brain, from severe neurological damage. Sapropterin is a key therapeutic option in metabolic health, bridging dietary management with targeted biochemical enzyme support.

𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧 acts as an essential 𝒄𝒐𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒌𝒆𝒚 that binds directly to the active site of deficient or unstable 𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒚𝒍𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒉𝒚𝒅𝒓𝒐𝒙𝒚𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒆 (𝑷𝑨𝑯) enzymes. By stabilizing the enzyme's molecular structure, it prevents premature protein breakdown and boosts catalytic activity. This enables the efficient breakdown of excess dietary 𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒚𝒍𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒆 into 𝒕𝒚𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆, preventing toxic accumulation in the bloodstream.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬
Common side effects of sapropterin may include headache, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, diarrhea, and vomiting. Upper respiratory tract infections and spinal pain may also occur in some patients.

𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭‼️
𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧 requires ongoing monitoring of blood phenylalanine levels to ensure clinical effectiveness and prevent abnormally low levels (hypophenylalaninemia). Patients taking sapropterin must continue following a medically supervised, phenylalanine-restricted diet as prescribed by their healthcare provider.

𝐗𝐏𝐑𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐘𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 joins the global community in observing World Mental Health Day October 10, 2026, promoting greater awareness of mental health, challenging stigma, and encouraging access to compassionate and inclusive mental health support. This year, we highlight the importance of listening to people’s lived experiences and recognizing their voices as an essential part of improving mental health care and support.

𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 is an important component of overall well-being. Despite this, many individuals continue to experience stigma, discrimination, and difficulties in accessing appropriate mental health services. The 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (WHO) emphasizes that people who have personally experienced mental health challenges have unique insights that can help improve mental health systems. Listening to their experiences can help communities and organizations better understand people's needs and develop services that are more supportive, accessible, and responsive.

The 2026 theme, “𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒅: 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔, 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆, reminds us that people with lived experience should have a meaningful role in shaping mental health programs, policies, and services. Their stories should not only be heard but also valued and considered when making decisions that affect mental health care. By involving people with lived experience, we can help build mental health systems that are more understanding, inclusive, and centered on the needs of individuals.

𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧. 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝. 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞.
Together, we can foster a community where everyone feels comfortable sharing their experiences and seeking support without fear of judgment. By showing empathy, reducing stigma, and valuing lived experiences, we can contribute to a healthier and more supportive environment for everyone.

“𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒅. 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆. 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒅𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆.”

For mental health concerns, do not hesitate to seek help from a trusted person or qualified mental health professional. Asking for help is a sign of strength, and no one should have to face their struggles alone.

𝐅𝐮𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲! 💊

𝐙𝐢𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 is an atypical antipsychotic medication primarily used in the treatment of 𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒛𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒂 and 𝒃𝒊𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒓 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓. It belongs to a class of second-generation antipsychotic drugs that act on neurotransmitter systems involved in mood, behavior, and perception. 𝐙𝐢𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 produces its therapeutic effects mainly by interacting with dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain, particularly by blocking dopamine D₂ and serotonin 5-HT₂ receptors. Through these actions, it helps reduce symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, agitation, and disorganized thinking, while also helping manage manic or mixed episodes associated with bipolar disorder.

𝐙𝐢𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 is available in oral formulations and is also available as an intramuscular preparation for the short-term treatment of acute agitation associated with schizophrenia. Like other antipsychotic medications, its use requires appropriate medical supervision because it may cause adverse effects and has important safety considerations, including its potential to prolong the QT interval of the heart. Overall, ziprasidone is an important medication in psychiatric treatment because of its ability to manage psychotic and mood-related symptoms through its effects on multiple neurotransmitter receptors.

𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 💊
𝐙𝐢𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 is an atypical antipsychotic that primarily blocks 𝒅𝒐𝒑𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑫₂ and 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒏 𝟓-𝑯𝑻₂𝑨 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔, while also interacting with 𝟓-𝑯𝑻₁𝑨, 𝟓-𝑯𝑻₁𝑫, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝟓-𝑯𝑻₂𝑪 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔. Its distinctive serotonin dopamine activity contributes to its therapeutic effects on psychotic and mood symptoms. Compared with some other atypical antipsychotics, ziprasidone has a relatively favorable weight and metabolic profile, with lower affinity for histamine H₁ and muscarinic M₁ receptors. However, it can prolong the QT interval, making cardiac safety an important consideration.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 💊
Common side effects of ziprasidone may include drowsiness or sedation, nausea or upset stomach, dizziness, restlessness or agitation, and mild tremors or muscle stiffness. Ziprasidone can also cause QT interval prolongation, a heart rhythm abnormality that may require medical monitoring, especially in patients with cardiac risk factors.

𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭‼️
𝐙𝐢𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 carries a black box warning for increased mortality in elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis. It can also cause OT prolongation, a potentially serious heart rhythm issue-patients with a history of cardiac conditions should be monitored closely. It must be taken with food (at least 500 calories) for proper absorption.

🎗𝐏𝐫𝐨 𝐓𝐢𝐩:
Always take 𝐙𝐢𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 with a full meal-this dramatically increases its effectiveness. Be consistent with your dosing time to avoid mood fluctuations. Don't stop abruptly unless directed by your provider, as it may lead to symptom relapse.

𝐗𝐏𝐑𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐘𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 stands with the global community in raising awareness about breast cancer, promoting early detection, and advocating for accessible and quality cancer care. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we recognize the importance of education, prevention, timely diagnosis, and continued support for individuals and families affected by breast cancer.

𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 remains one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide. According to the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (WHO), approximately 2.4 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer and 694,000 died from the disease globally in 2024. Early detection, timely diagnosis, and access to appropriate treatment play essential roles in improving breast cancer outcomes. By understanding the signs and symptoms, seeking medical advice when unusual changes occur, and encouraging regular consultations with healthcare professionals, we can help promote awareness and support those affected by this disease.

The 2026 message, “𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝑰𝒔 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆, 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔,” emphasizes that every individual affected by breast cancer deserves understanding, compassion, and quality healthcare. It reminds us that behind every diagnosis is a personal story and a journey that deserves support. The WHO also highlights the importance of reducing inequalities in breast cancer care by strengthening early detection, ensuring timely diagnosis, and providing comprehensive treatment. No one should face breast cancer alone, and everyone deserves an equal opportunity to receive the care they need.

𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲!💊

𝗜𝘀𝗼𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗶𝗻 is a powerful oral medication primarily used to treat severe forms of acne, particularly acne that is painful, deep, cystic, or difficult to control with conventional treatments. It belongs to a group of medications called retinoids, which are chemically related to 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗔.

Isotretinoin works by targeting several of the major factors involved in acne development. It significantly reduces the production of sebum, or natural oil, by shrinking the sebaceous glands, while also helping prevent the clogging of hair follicles and reducing inflammation associated with acne. Because it addresses multiple causes of acne rather than focusing on only one, isotretinoin can be particularly effective for patients with severe or persistent acne that may otherwise lead to permanent scarring.

𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 💊
Isotretinoin works primarily by reducing sebum production and altering the growth and differentiation of sebaceous gland cells. Both isotretinoin and its metabolite, 4-oxo-isotretinoin, have been shown to significantly reduce sebum production. Although isotretinoin is structurally related to other retinoids, it does not bind strongly to retinol-binding proteins or directly activate nuclear retinoic acid receptors (RARs) in the same way as some other retinoids.

The exact mechanism by which isotretinoin produces its effects is not completely understood. However, its activity may involve the metabolism of isotretinoin into biologically active retinoid metabolites that interact with retinoid receptors, including RAR-γ. These effects influence gene expression and cellular processes involved in sebaceous gland activity.

One of the major effects of isotretinoin is the reduction in the size and activity of the sebaceous glands. It can also promote apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in sebocytes, the cells responsible for producing sebum. As a result, sebum production is substantially decreased. Isotretinoin also helps prevent the formation of comedones by normalizing follicular keratinization, although the precise molecular mechanisms responsible for this effect are not completely understood.

Isotretinoin does not directly act as an antibacterial drug. Instead, by reducing sebum production and altering the follicular environment, it makes the skin less favorable for the growth of 𝑪𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒖𝒎 𝒂𝒄𝒏𝒆𝒔, a bacterium associated with acne. Isotretinoin also has anti-inflammatory effects that may contribute to the reduction of acne lesions.

Overall, isotretinoin is highly effective in treating severe acne because it simultaneously reduces sebum production, decreases sebaceous gland activity, normalizes follicular keratinization, and reduces inflammation.

Recent research has also suggested a possible relationship between isotretinoin and the transcription factor FoxO1. FoxO1 is involved in several cellular processes, including lipid metabolism, cell growth, and gene regulation. This proposed connection may help explain some of the molecular effects of isotretinoin that are not yet fully understood. However, further research is needed to establish the precise role of FoxO1 in isotretinoin's mechanism of action.

💊𝗜𝘀𝗼𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗶𝗻: 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀

Isotretinoin is an effective treatment for severe acne, but it may cause common side effects such as itching, rashes, nosebleeds, dizziness, muscle or joint discomfort, insomnia, headache and dry eye. While these effects are often manageable, isotretinoin can also cause serious adverse effects and requires proper medical supervision. Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions and report unusual or severe symptoms promptly. 🧴✨

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: If you're a woman who can get pregnant, you should not take isotretinoin unless you've tried other treatments that haven't worked. This is because isotretinoin can cause serious birth defects in babies. It's really important that you understand the risks and follow the rules to avoid getting pregnant while taking this medication. If you can get pregnant, make sure you read and understand the warnings about pregnancy and isotretinoin–it's crucial for your health and the health of your baby. 🤱🏻

𝐅𝐮𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲!🎉

𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧 is an oral anticoagulant, also known as a blood thinner, used to prevent and treat harmful blood clots. It helps reduce the risk of conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, stroke, and other clot-related complications.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐈𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬?
Warfarin slows the blood-clotting process by interfering with the body’s use of vitamin K. Since vitamin K is needed to produce certain clotting factors, reducing its activity makes blood take longer to clot.

𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Warfarin inhibits vitamin K epoxide reductase (VKORC1), an enzyme involved in recycling vitamin K. This reduces the activity of vitamin K–dependent clotting factors, particularly Factors II, VII, IX, and X, decreasing the blood’s ability to form clots.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭
The most common side effect of warfarin is bleeding, which may appear as unusual bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or prolonged bleeding from cuts. Severe or unusual bleeding should be reported to a healthcare provider.

𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠
Warfarin requires regular PT/INR blood tests to monitor how quickly the blood is clotting. The results help healthcare providers determine whether the dose needs to be adjusted.

𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 & 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
Changes in vitamin K intake can affect how warfarin works, so maintaining a consistent diet is important. Other medicines, herbal products, supplements, and certain foods may also interact with warfarin.

𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫
Warfarin should be taken exactly as prescribed and should not be stopped or adjusted without medical advice. Because it affects blood clotting, regular monitoring and awareness of bleeding symptoms are important during treatment.
