Same time in 2015, I was one of 4 cake bakers/chefs asked to bake a cake for Pope Francis. It was his special request for one of his staffers and good friend, Valentina, who was celebrating her 60th birthday on their flight back to Rome. I remember how giddy and excited I was to get a call from my friend Marissa.❤️ She asked me to make my Kahlua Mocha Cake. Soon after, spot.ph caught the story and wrote about the Pope’s thoughtful request.😇 Our cakes became instantaneously in demand and were dubbed the “Pope’s Cake” !🥰🙏🏼😇
