What happens when something you love slowly turns into something that drains you?
Back in 2018, I started Dessert Bar South. I had no roadmap.
Only a whisk, sleepless nights, more than 10 cups of coffee and the kind of faith my sisters carried for me when I couldn’t.
Those years were filled with both triumphs and trials.
Being somehow featured on Yummy PH, cakes that caused playful family feuds, and shared cookies that found their way into many homes.
But behind those moments were the unseen ones - melted frostings on the road, missed expectations, and a constant voice whispering that what I created wasn’t enough.
Eventually, I burned out.
I stepped away, not knowing if I would ever return. That pause, though difficult, became necessary. It taught me that rest doesn’t erase passion, it refines it.
And so, I return. This time with steadier hands, a clearer vision, and a deeper gratitude for the community that never stopped asking, waiting, and believing.
