It was June 8 of 2020 when we were asked to offer takeaway of our famed Ensaymadas. Most of our patrons have always loved and commended our pastries here in Plantation Bay Resort & Spa, and I think it’s time to make these available to them at the comfort of their homes and it was timely because by flattening the curve, many of us now have stocked up our pantry with canned goods and processed foods
. So, then we thought of naming our pâtisserie, with the fascination of naming our buildings with fictional and non-fictional names from A to Z, we came up with different names that starts with the letter A or B. With a series of discussions and selections, we decided to go with “Bakeshop by the Beach”, which is a fitting name considering our location in the resort and we are also situated adjacent to one of our buildings, Bahamas. With the help of the management and the kitchen team spearheaded by our Executive Chef Lee Ramas, we had a successful launching June 8, 2020. We started with some of the favorite desserts and pastries in the pâtisserie, from an array of cakes, loaves, brownies down to our pinoy pies. Now we have started trends—EnsayMondays, Twice-Baked Wednesdays & Croissant Fridays. We have rebranded our pâtisserie into a bakeshop, we have started fads and we have been consistently brainstorming for fresh ideas and new items to sell. Instead of waiting for the situtation to progress, we took the initiative—viewing takeaway as a new opportunity and to make everyone feel amidst this pandemic and bleakness, that the weight of the world once again is a little bit lighter on their shoulders, and these goodies will definitely put a smile on their faces. We will stay true to our goal: to celebrate the exquisite taste of freshly baked goodies that you can share with your loved ones.
