This is not even optional, it's A MUST.
I keep seeing new bakers post their cakes in groups, then asking how to price them. Learn to price before you even turn your oven on, not after the cake is made!
Learning how to price your product or service is a critical step that should be taken BEFORE you start selling or open a business. Pricing sets the tone for your entire business, and it can make or break your chances of success. Without proper pricing, you risk undercharging and leaving money on the table, or overcharging and scaring away potential customers.
Setting the right price requires an understanding of your target market, competition, and the value of your offering. You need to consider factors like production costs, overhead expenses, and profit margins. Failing to do so could result in a pricing strategy that is unsustainable or unattractive to customers.
Furthermore, once you have established a pricing strategy, it is important to stick to it. Constantly changing your prices can erode customer trust and make it difficult for them to budget and plan accordingly.
Learning how to price your product or service is an essential skill for any entrepreneur or business owner. It requires research, analysis, and a solid understanding of your market and costs. A well-planned pricing strategy can set you up for success and help ensure the long-term sustainability of your business.
Pricing a cake is not hard, it only requires basic mathematics. Avoid asking in baking groups about how much you should charge for your own cake, someone else's pricing may not be the same as yours. No one else knows the price of your product but you. This practice should not be encouraged. My suggestion to group admins, maybe you can organize pricing seminars for the members because hundreds are still struggling with pricing. There are also free business courses offered by DTI I think for SMEs.
Please, learn how to price your products. No, it's not x3.
