Fulbright in Kodiak, Alaska
As a Fulbright scholar in Kodiak, Alaska, Dr. Joefe B. Santarita had for 8 months, immersed himself in the study of communities, culture, and the connections between people and place. Beyond academic work, he engaged with the local community, learned from Alaska’s rich indigenous and coastal traditions, and shared perspectives from the Philippines.
His time in Kodiak became more than a scholarship - it was an exchange of knowledge and experiences that enriched his work as a scholar and strengthened his commitment to community-based and culturally grounded research.
