Starting the day strong with a breakfast spread that has something for everyone: sausage fried rice, steamed egg, star nuggets, and mini embotido. Bebe Alecz got a healthy bowl of cauliflower, kamote, and alugbati egg rice, all washed down with some refreshing Honey Lemon Cucumber juice! ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿฅ’

The best part of the morning? Kuya Sammy "volunteering" to wash the fondant cutters and molders. I think he liked the bubbles more than the cleaning, but hey, itโ€™s one less chore for me! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Meanwhile, Alecz was chilled out with my detox juice and a bit of cartoons.๐Ÿ‡

Ended the morning with some precious brotherly bondingโ€”peek-a-boo, dancing, and lots of ticklesโ€”while Tatay works on the room and his garage. A full house and a full heart today!๐Ÿ โœจ

How is everyoneโ€™s Sunday going so far? I hope youโ€™re all having a peaceful and relaxing day with your loved ones.

Iโ€™m still taking things very slow and making sure I donโ€™t move around the kitchen too much while I continue to recover from my recent hospital stay. Since I have to keep the heavy baking on pause for now, weโ€™re sticking to a more "assembled" kind of meryenda today.

We had plain fluffy pancakes for little Aleczโ€”Kuya Sammyโ€™s over at lola Adaโ€™s houseโ€”and some homemade spicy tuna and kani kimbap (not an expert kaya ganyan po sya๐Ÿ˜…) for the adults. I paired mine with my own mix of honey-lemon-cucumber water for that extra refreshing hit. ๐Ÿ‹

The original plan was actually to make baked sushi, so whatever ingredients are left will definitely be transformed into that later on!๐Ÿ˜Š

Itโ€™s a different pace from my usual routine, but itโ€™s a good reminder to appreciate these slower moments. Health is truly wealth, so Iโ€™m wishing everyone a safe, restful weekend and good health to all. Stay hydrated and take care of yourselves!โœจ

They say nothing good happens after midnight, but they clearly havenโ€™t tried this focaccia. What started as a late-night "should I?" at almost 11:00 PM turned into a full-blown kitchen adventure that didnโ€™t wrap up until past 2:00 AM.๐Ÿซฉ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿ’ค

To be honest, this is my first time baking bread. Hahaha. Iโ€™ve always been a bit terrified of yeast. The whole kneading and proofing process felt like a test of confidence and patience I wasnโ€™t sure I had! But I finally faced the fear for my very first bread, and thank goodness for no-knead recipes.๐Ÿ˜Œ

Watching this rise in the pan (literal na pinanood ma-bake) was pure magic. I topped it generously with parmesan cheese and dried parsley for that perfect salty, herbaceous crunch. Waking up today to a freshly baked bread was the best reward for those late-night hours!

This beauty is so versatileโ€”you can eat it on its own, enjoy it with the classic balsamic vinegar and olive oil dip, or slice it up for some epic sandwiches. ๐Ÿฅช

Our little Rapunzel, Ciela Maverie, has finally stepped out of her "tower" and into her very first birthday! After twelve months of magic, she has officially completed her year-long royal tour, ending this April with a celebration that is simply glowing.

Watching Ciela grow month by month has been like seeing the lanterns riseโ€”full of light, wonder, and so much joy. From her very first milestone cake to this grand Disney Princess finale, she has truly been the golden thread in our baking year. The best kind of "busy" is when my hands are covered in flour and my heart is completely full. To be honest, it took me a minute to adjustโ€”at first, I kept waking up feeling a bit uneasy, my brain still wired to think about the next report or deadline to be submitted. Itโ€™s a strange feeling being "off the clock," but man, does it feel good to finally wake up without a mental checklist of schoolwork!๐Ÿ˜…

Iโ€™ve been soaking up every second of this uninterrupted time, even if "vacation" actually means balancing oven timers with full-time mommy duties for Kuya Sammy and bebe Alecz. Iโ€™ve been truly enjoying our slow mornings togetherโ€”from heartier breakfasts to fun outings with the kids, or even the simple joy of just staying in and eating takeouts.๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ”

Best of all, I finally have the headspace to enjoy the little things again: catching up on my K-dramas, getting back to my digital drawing, and having all the time in the world to answer Kuya Sammyโ€™s endless questions.๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป

Turning this break into a mix of family time and baking magic has been the ultimate reset. While the orders are flying out, my heart is right here, finally getting used to the pace of being home with my boys. The summer heat is definitely here, but the oven is staying busy with these sweet orders just in time for Easter Sunday! In the midst of our weekend reflections, this season is such a beautiful reminder of hope, renewal, and the many blessings we receive.

We went with a Tangled-inspired theme, featuring that iconic glowing sunโ€”itโ€™s the perfect way to celebrate a "Best Day Ever." It is always such a joy to bake for a regular client/friend who brings so much style and energy to every milestone we celebrate together.

For her special day, we designed a heart cake that is as bold and chic as her personality. This deep, chocolate/maroon-toned creation features rich, velvety frosting piped into dramatic vintage-style borders, accented with gold luster dust and shimmering pearls for a touch of luxe. To complete the look, we added delicate black silk bows to perfectly capture that signature coquette charm she carries so effortlessly. ๐ŸŽ€๐Ÿ–ค

As we observe these sacred days of Holy Week, weโ€™re keeping our meals nourishing yet humble. For breakfast, little Alecz had a colorful bowl of squash, alugbati, and camote tops with eggโ€”fuel for his growing milestones. For the rest of the family, we had egg wraps and yogurt topped with homemade granola. Iโ€™m actually feeling inspired to try making the yogurt from scratch soon! Of course, a few slices of our signature ChocoLoco Loaf make the morning feel just a bit more special.๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿฅฃ

Lunch is a true Filipino classic: Sarsiadong Galunggong paired with perfectly fried eggplant. There is something so grounding about these traditional flavors during a time of reflection.๐ŸŸ

In the quiet of this season, we find ourselves holding our prayers a little closer. We know how heavy the world feels right now with the economic challenges and rising costs we are all facing.
