There is something so special about a slow Wednesday afternoonโ€”the kind where the clock seems to tick a little softer and the only "deadline" is when the cupcakes come out of the oven.๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Todayโ€™s meryenda spread was all about simple comforts:
๐Ÿ Simple Spicy Tuna Pasta for that savory kick.
๐Ÿ‰ Fresh Watermelon Slices, which disappear in seconds because they are Aleczโ€™s absolute favorite.
๐ŸŒ Banana Cupcakes topped with chocolate chips, made with a lot of love and a little help from my kitchen assistant, Kuya Sam.

The kitchen was filled with so much excitement that it was hard to keep everyone away from the cooling rack! Even though they were still steaming hot fresh out of the oven, the kids couldn't wait to dig in. Kuya Sam and Malia especially enjoyed theirs with those chocolate chips on top, while Alecz was perfectly happy having his plain.

The best part of the day wasn't just the food, though. It was watching Kuya Sam and his cousin Malia lost in conversation, refueling before heading back out to play "pretend family". Itโ€™s these quiet, messy, and sweet moments that make the middle of the week feel like a celebration.๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿค—

Keeping it simple this afternoon with a spread made from scratch.๐Ÿฅž We whipped up a batch of pancakes with three variations: plain, banana, and cheese. Samsam gave the cheese pancakes a 10/10!๐Ÿซถ

Lolo Daddy kept us entertained while we ate fresh watermelon. It sparked a trip down memory lane, so he shared stories from his days working at a ranch. I never knew unripe watermelon could be used as a main ingredient for abraw! We also got a good laugh hearing about him being chased up a duhat tree by a cow.๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒณ

While Alecz happily munched on everything, Kuya Sammy was busy on a "rescue mission" outside, saving fallen leaves. Proof that the best days aren't the busiest onesโ€”just the ones shared together.๐Ÿค—๐ŸคŽ

Better late than never! We were a bit quiet on the feed yesterday, and for a very good reason. While Motherโ€™s Day is one of our busiest seasons, I decided to take a step back and truly immerse myself in the mom life experience.๐Ÿ˜Œ

I want to sincerely apologize to everyone we werenโ€™t able to accommodate for Motherโ€™s Day orders this year. As much as I love baking your dreams into reality, I spent my Sunday enjoying the beautiful chaos of house chores, running errands, and soaking up every second of quality time with my boys. It was a day for recharging the heart!๐Ÿซ€

Even though the post is a day late, the love behind this bake is timeless. This particular beauty was ordered by a sweet husband for his lovely wife for her birthday todayโ€”a perfect example of the kind of appreciation we love to see!

Thereโ€™s something so poetic about a Basque Burnt Cheesecakeโ€”itโ€™s a bit rustic and "burnt" on the outside, but incredibly soft, sweet, and rich on the inside. Isn't that just like motherhood? A little chaotic and weathered at times, but filled with so much sweetness. So we gave this beauty a tropical makeover:

I finally found the perfect reason to debut these sugar cookies: the Pastry Picnic Party!๐Ÿงบ๐Ÿฅ

I pulled an all-nighter baking and decorating these, and my tired, shaky hands were definitely protesting (buti na lang simple design lang ang pinush ko talaga hahaha)โ€”but seeing them all laid out made it worth it!๐Ÿฅน

Since the event was hosted by Local Florist Tarlac, I leaned heavily into a garden aesthetic. The cookies feature delicate hand-piped flowers and dainty bows in shades of purple, yellow, and pink, perfectly matching the floral vibe of the day.๐Ÿชป๐Ÿƒ

These little bites are everything a sugar cookie should be:
๐Ÿงˆ Buttery & Tender: A rich, melt-in-your-mouth base that isn't too sweet.
๐ŸŒธ Crisp Royal Icing: Decorated with a smooth royal icing that provides a satisfying snap in every bite.
๐ŸคŽ Poppable Size: I made them slightly smaller so they are easy to pick up and enjoy in one go!

It was wonderful to share our passion projects with other bakers and sample so many incredible treats. Though I had to head out early to fulfill my own cake order pickups, Iโ€™m so glad I could stop by.๐Ÿค—

Thereโ€™s a specific kind of peace that comes with the last day of uninterrupted vacation. For us teachers, May marks the beginning of school work and prep, even if the students donโ€™t fill the hallways until June. So today, I soaked up every bit of "uninterrupted" time I have left (buti na lang holiday tomorrow and weekend ang kasunod๐Ÿ˜).

I spent the day surrounded by the heavenly scent of these Baked Dreams ChocoLoco loaves. They weren't just for my own kitchen, thoughโ€”they were ordered to be shared as gifts.๐ŸŽ

As I looked at these loaves all wrapped up and ready to go, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for Godโ€™s provisions. Sometimes His blessings are huge, but often, they are found in the "small" things: the ability to give to others, a successful bake, a happy family, and the health to return to a job I love.

This break has been a beautiful reminder of what matters mostโ€”time spent with family. Those slow mornings and long conversations have been the ultimate "recharge" for my soul. While the transition to school work starts in just a few days, Iโ€™m walking into May feeling fueled by love, faith, and maybe a little bit of chocolate.

Today has been one of those days. You know the onesโ€”where you feel completely overstimulated from the moment your eyes open. Maybe itโ€™s the red days looming, or perhaps just the weight of being home a little too long (no personal time and space), every little thing felt like a sensory assault.

Donโ€™t get me wrong, I love being at home and I adore my kids, but today, I was on edge. I found myself getting irritated by the smallest things: my hair getting tangled, or the sheer frustration of not being able to peel the garlic for my focaccia perfectly. I felt like I was on the verge of tears over a clove of garlic.

I canโ€™t even count how many times I had to stop, take a deep breath, and whisper to myself, "โ€™Di ako โ€˜to, hormones lang 'to."

Being a mom to two high-energy and clingy boys is a beautiful gift, but today, it pushed me to my limits. My one-year-old spent the day testing my reflexes with sudden movements that kept me in a constant state of "save him from a bumped head" mode. But the moment I try to scold him or set a boundary, he looks up and gives me those โ€œpogi-pogiโ€ eyes. Honestly, what can you even do with that? My heart melts, even when my body is tired. Meanwhile, my five-year-old was a whirlwind of questions and constant bids for attention.

The mental and emotional load felt heavy. Yet, despite the mood and the exhaustion, I chose to be present. I chose to move my hands and create something.

Todayโ€™s Comfort Spread:
๐Ÿง„ Garlic Butter Focaccia: Topped with basil and a heavy hand of parmesan. Itโ€™s rustic, salty, and comforting. Didnโ€™t even wait for it to cool down. Bebe Alecz loved munching on the crunchy bits.
