Sailing Tradition: A Sugar Tribute to the Vinta and the Myth of the Sarimanok

This cake captures Maranao heritage through intricate sugar artistry. A dignified figure in traditional attire stands aboard a vibrant sugar vinta, its sails billowing in a Mindanao breeze. Surrounding it are vinta boats adorned with Sarimanok-inspired designs, blending movement and myth. At the bow, a vividly detailed Sarimanok clutches a silver fish, echoing Maranao legend. A durian accent at the side pays homage to Mindanao’s bounty. Every element from textured garments to feathered wings reflects cultural pride and storytelling. The piece honors tradition and spirit, celebrating the strength, grace, and identity of the Maranao people. A tale in sugar and symbolism.
