Compassion and accountability should go hand in hand. It’s not enough to hope things get better. We have to demand a world where they do.

And I hope you remember that the next time you choose to be apolitical, these are the type of people you help put in power—people who treat our taxes like their own wallets, people who take advantage of those who are suffering. Choosing not to care doesn’t make you neutral. It makes you complicit in a system that feeds on our silence.

People are dying. Communities are suffering. You have a voice. Use it.

This isn’t about pointing fingers or placing blame. It’s a reminder that we aren’t the only ones living in this world. Our choices, or lack of them, affect others too. We owe it to one another to stay aware, to stay human, and to never forget that silence has consequences.
