CEBU CITY, Philippines — The family of 18-year-old student Braille Nichole Kwek has decided not to file charges against the ambulance driver involved in the collision that claimed her life on Tuesday, April 14.

In an interview, Kwek’s grandfather said the family instead requested that the driver and his camp shoulder the burial expenses, including the transport of her remains to Poro, Camotes, as well as other related costs.

Kwek was killed after the motorcycle she was riding collided with a counterflowing ambulance at the Archbishop Reyes flyover. She was declared dead at the scene.

Her companion, identified as 18-year-old Juan Antonio Ladioray, who was driving the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Initial police investigation revealed that the ambulance was counterflowing at the time of the crash while transporting a stroke patient.

Despite the circumstances, Kwek’s family has opted to settle the matter without pursuing legal action.

Sa dihang muliko na ang Ceres Bus sa nahisgutang lugar, giingong kining motor mikawat ug kalit sa maong linya.
Hangtod nga na alanganin kini sa tumoy nianang Center Island sa Imus hangtod nga naigo kini sa kiliran sa maong bus og napasok sa ilalom.

Wala ra maunsa ang ulo sa biktima apan gitoohan nga ang usa sa tiil niini nabali hinungdan sa nahitabong pagka pasok niini.

Ang biktima luwas ra sa makuyaw nga kahimtang samtang gidala na kini sa tambalanan.

The mother in pained too . she said , What ever they need , she's there .. a loving mother of a loving children ❤️ and husband ❤️. Why ? Why Kyle ? Why ? She asked .

Only Dave Kyle Punsalang knew his reason why ? He was awaked , he knew the vessels situation , he saved many lives . Might be he wanted to save more life .. not thinking about his own life.
