CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — The Xavier Ateneo Scholars’ Guild (XASG)
conducted its Basic Orientation and Leadership Training Seminar (BOLTS) ’26 on October 16, 2026, at Audio-Visual Room 2 of Xavier University–Ateneo de Cagayan Main Campus, bringing together approximately 30 officers for a day of leadership formation and
organizational development.
Anchored on the theme “𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐒𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞,” BOLTS ’26 served as
XASG’s flagship formation and capacity-building initiative for its scholar-leaders. The seminar aimed to equip officers with the essential skills, operational knowledge, and values needed to lead the organization and serve the university’s scholar community effectively.
Central to this year’s formation was 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐒, which emphasizes moral clarity, ethical discernment, and purposeful leadership. Rooted in Ignatian spirituality, the initiative highlighted the principles of Magis and service to others, emphasizing that leadership extends beyond personal achievement and entails a commitment to the greater good.
Beyond values formation, BOLTS ’26 also aimed to strengthen officers’ operational and
strategic competencies. Its objectives included developing their understanding of project management, university proposal-routing procedures, financial stewardship, and crisis communication to support effective project implementation, responsible resource management, and coordination across the Guild’s committees.
Through BOLTS ’26, XASG reaffirmed its commitment to developing scholar-leaders who pair competence with character and ambition with service. As the Guild continues to pursue its vision of soaring beyond the skies, CLARITAS and Magis serve as guiding principles for leadership grounded in purpose, guided by discernment, and directed toward meaningful service to the Xavier Ateneo community.
