𝓓𝓲𝓼𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓭 + 𝓦𝓪𝓵𝓷𝓾𝓽𝓼 = A very pleasant surprise 🫶🙏

I didn't add ube or blueberries —this is just science! Turns out, the iron in the flour reacts with the walnut skins in an acidic sourdough environment to create this natural purple swirl. Not only it is gorgeous, but it was made with 100% sourdough discard!☺️🍞🫶

𝙂𝙀𝙉𝙐𝙄𝙉𝙀/𝙍𝙀𝘼𝙇 𝙎𝙊𝙐𝙍𝘿𝙊𝙐𝙂𝙃 𝙋𝘼𝙍𝙏 1: 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙊𝙐𝙏𝙎𝙄𝘿𝙀 𝘾𝙍𝙐𝙎𝙏

𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦: Tiny, crunchy bubbles on the crust that are widely considered a hallmark of a well-fermented, artisanal loaf.

𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗥 & 𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗩𝗢𝗥: Authentic crust ranges from golden to deep mahogany. This browning, known as the Maillard reaction, creates complex, roasted aromas and a slightly bitter, nutty flavor.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 "𝗘𝗔𝗥": A prominent flap of crust that peels back where the loaf was scored.

My 3rd R&D Sourdough Loaf!🥹 Who would have thought that flour, water, and salt are the only ingredients of this bread? Grabeh talaga how much time and effort goes into real/genuine sourdough kaya hindi ko pa sure kung i-offer ko ito dahil baka magselos na ang mga croissants ko.😂

My first ever sourdough loaf/bread!🫶🥖🍞 Just like all my baked goodies, this sourdough loaf isn't perfect.. but what matters is the joy I feel because I finally gave it a shot!🥹🤗 Salute to all the dedicated sourdough bakers who keep the ancient tradition of wild yeast alive!
