The history of cookies dates back from ancient civilization where bakers used to test cakes in small amounts to check the temperature of the oven. The earliest known cookies are believed to have come from 7th-century Persia, one of the first regions to cultivate sugar (https://whatscookingamerica.net/history/cookiehistory.htm).
Since then, cookies have evolved into countless varieties, filled with nuts, chocolate, fruits, oats, and more. It can be enjoyed as a snack or as a dessert.
Such as these Pecan Butter Cookies and Black Cocoa Cookies (a recipe from Chef Cecille). Both pair perfectly with coffee or tea, but in my case, I love them with a scoop of plain vanilla ice cream. 😋
