My Story

Hi, I’m Linda – Wife, Mother, Passionate Baker and Cake Maker Extraordinaire of Cakes by the Ocean Tairua!! I have been baking and decorating cakes for family and friends for many years. In 2017 I made my dream a reality, and took my hobby to the next level, launching Cakes by the Ocean Tairua. Cakes by the Ocean Tairua proudly services Tairua, Pauanui and surrounding areas on the Coromandel.

I believe the Coromandel is a remarkable place for honouring life's special celebrations. I create one-of-a-kind cakes for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and more. My cakes are home-baked, delicious and artfully decorated. A bespoke cake is a wonderful way to include everyone in your special occasion. It looks great, tastes delicious and puts people in a festive mood! Special occasion cakes are a terrific talking point at any party and a beautiful way of showing just how much you care.

All cake designing, baking and decorating is done from my registered home kitchen. Pricing is determined on a cake by cake basis as each cake is individually made to your specific requirements to give you that WOW factor. As a general rule a 3D or carved cake will cost more because of the work involved in sculpting it. A flat or plain cake with less design structure will generally cost less. Even the simplest cake can take a minimum of 5 hours to construct so please allow me plenty of time to create your masterpiece.
