For Rotorua Farmers Market tomorrow Mariette is making traditional German gingerbread (Lebkuchen), a cakey texture with ground nuts, honey and special spices. Packaged so you can also share them as Christmas gifts.

We’ll also have Morello Cherry Cake, Carrot Cake and Apple Streussel Torte, summery Strawberry Tarts and some more, traditional German Christmas baking.

Oh Christmas tree…traditional German Christmas baking at tomorrow’s Rotorua Farmers Market . These are made with ground almond, an egg white base and spices for the stars and rum essence for the round angel kisses.

We also have Rhubarb Meringue Tart, Hummingbird Cake, Chocolate Orange Cake, Carrot Cake and Morello Cherry Cake.

With our coffee this afternoon we tried a rhubarb cake Mariette will make for this Sunday's Farmers Market. Tangy (but not mouth puckering) rhubarb in moist sour cream cake with a cinnamon brown sugar topping.
