Sixteen years ago today, I started selling cupcakes at the cutest little market on Church Street in Queenstown.

A seed was planted in my mind after I completed a course in London, following my exit from a company I’d been working for.

I still remember the words the facilitator said that stayed with me: “It’s up to you to design the life you want.” So that’s exactly what I did.

I love making cakes but more importantly, I love making magic happen. It’s the moment when eyes light up at the sight of a cake, or when someone takes that first bite. That’s where the happiness and magic truly live.

And I get to do this in one of the most spectacular places in the world!

So if you’re sitting there wondering what this new year will bring… don’t just wonder, go out and make it happen.
