After eight years and close to 1,000 orders, it's with a heavy heart that Cakes on College has now closed permanently.
2025 was a year where I was lucky enough to create some of the most beautiful cakes of my career for some truly lovely people.
However, it was also the toughest year of trade since opening. Extreme ingredient price increases crushed already narrow margins,a struggling economy slowed business significantly. Combined with juggling a young family and my own limited physical capacity, it became glaringly obvious that the time had come to hang up my apron.
I’m forever grateful to my loyal clients — some of you have been with me since I first opened, and my heart breaks a little saying goodbye.
Right now, the focus is on prioritising my health, our family life, turning our home back into a home rather than a business space, and choosing the stability of a regular income over the unpredictable nature of a cakery.
It may not be goodbye forever — but it is goodbye in this form… except for the six months of cakes that still deserve to be posted.
