What a wonderful week of adventures and excursions we have shared together! 🌿☀️

Our tamariki loved exploring the community, observing the big machinery at work, and enjoying walks in the beautiful outdoors. These experiences sparked so much curiosity, conversation, and learning as we asked questions, made connections, and explored the world around us together.

Have a safe long weekend everyone ❤️

This week we are feeling blown-away with how much fun it is to celebrate our star Ururangi. Our tamariki have enjoyed many different creative experiences, including ribbon dancing, poi, creating wind spinners and catchers, cloud painting and creating manu tukutuku (kites.)
Ururangi - the winds of the sky, is associated with air, winds and atmospheric conditions. Ururangi reminds us to be adaptable, to move with change, and to maintain a positive attitude. 🩵

What a wonderful week we have had learning all about the star Waitaa through a range of fun and engaging learning experiences.
Our tamariki explored Waitaa’s connection to the ocean, coastal waters and kaimoana through art, sensory play, stories and conversations.
It has been lovely to see the children’s curiosity grow as they shared ideas, asked questions and made connections to the world around them. 🌊✨

On this beautiful Thursday, our four year olds and some of our older three year olds set off on an adventure in time to see a collection of Massey Ferguson tractors.

We learnt about the history of the tractors and how they were restored.

Our tamariki enjoyed building connections within our community and linking to our communication focus! We were able to ask questions and listen carefully to instructions.

We nurtured tuakana teina relationships as our more experienced four year olds supported our younger children.

We loved our time in te rā 🌞 and exploring Bill and Lyn’s ngā tarakihana 🚜 A massive thankyou to you both ❤️

To finish off our trip we had a play in a mountain of leaves. What a fun morning, my friends!

What a wonderful start to our week learning about the Matariki star Waitaa.✨
Waitaa is connected to the ocean, coastal waters and the abundance of kaimoana. She sits below her twin, Waitii where fresh rivers and streams eventually flow out and connect to the sea. Waitaa has strong links to Tangaroa and Hinemoana, reminding us of the importance of our oceans and the treasures they provide. 🌊🐚

What a beautiful day wearing pink and coming together to show support for anti-bullying awareness 💕 It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, spreading kindness, and reminding one another how important it is to include others, use kind words, and stand up for each other. 💕

In the lead up to Matariki we are celebrating a star each week and planning learning experiences for our tamariki that are linked to these. ⭐️

This week we have been looking at Waitii. Waitii is associated with all fresh water environments, rivers (awa,) lakes (roto,) streams and wetlands. Waitii is linked to the food and life sustained by fresh waters. She reminds people of the importance of caring for fresh water ecosystems.

Our tamariki engaged in a range of learning experiences through sensory play, art, nature discussions, and hands-on exploration, the children learnt about rivers, lakes, and streams and the importance of caring for the living things within them. It has been wonderful to see their curiosity, creativity, and growing understanding of how we can help protect our natural world.

What a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration we had! It was so special to see all of our lovely ladies enjoying a relaxing morning filled with smiles, laughter, nail painting, sweet treats, and precious moments with the tamariki.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so memorable. We loved celebrating the amazing mothers, aunties, nannas, and special people in our children’s lives. The joy and love shared throughout the morning truly made it a beautiful celebration to remember 💐 🩷 🌸

A heartfelt thank you to one of our incredibly generous mums (Alesha) kindly treating our special ladies with vouchers for her local business Integrative Alchemist based here in Pirongia.
Your thoughtfulness and kindness added an extra touch of love to our Mother’s Day celebration, and we truly appreciate your generosity and support! Integrative Alchemist by Alesha Smith
