Geht mir gerade durch den Kopf; ich bin ja nun schon ein alter Sack, ud habe 43 Jahre Erfahrung als Baecker auf zwei Kontinenten. Eine vielzahl der Posts hier hat eine starke Konzentration auf die Optik. Klar, auf dem Medium laesst sich Geschmack halt nicht so gut vermitteln. Ich frage mich aber in wie weit das jetzt eigentlich in Betrieben den Geschmack als Hauptpunkt verdraengt. Waere schade, denn Optik kann die Industrie auch.

We are still looking for someone to take over the Cafe/Bakery as a going concern.
Realistically we are looking for a european trained baker/patissier. As we believe that the Cafe should be continued the way we ran it to have any chance of succeeding. So , please share this post with listing and, maybe the right person will pop up. And, with the right people, goodwill is negotiable...

As we were locking up the cafe today, I thought about taking a picture of the, now dark and empty, place. But then, that would be a bit grim, so I looked for the first post here about the cafe. And it's been a while, a bit more than 6 1/2 years.
At the time we were slowly going broke. We had been living of the farm since 2005, and while we were pretty much self sufficient, we very slowly were running out of cash. I have always said that if things got dire, I would start a cafe.
(Here a little warning, a cafe is not actually a money earner, so for the first three years it just kept us over water, and then, very slowly we earned a little bit. We were still way below minimum wage.)
So ,after a six weeks battle to extract $20 000 as a business loan from our bank, we started this, and It showed a bit that we did not have money to splash around for fancy interior etc.
But, Judy wanted to learn patisserie, and I thought, maybe it at least gives her a start in life.
And we went on the long road to get to the cafe that we closed today, actually now being prettty much what I envisaged at the start of this journey...But, it was suprisingly much fun to do it. Thanks so much to all our loyal customers, to Ralph, who has played the piano every Friday for the last six years, and to John who was always there to help with little jobs and the lawns..
And hey, we twice closed bakeries for good before, so who knows......

After six years of business we have decided to close our doors this Saturday the 6th of May.
We appreciate all the support you have shown us these past years and have enjoyed getting to know you all.
