Day 2 of our amazing weekend with Tracy Johnson t/a Designer Cakes, who came to Invercargill to teach us this fantastic cake!

So many new skills learned, lots of tips and tricks, and sooooo many laughs along the way!

Thank you, Tracy, for another fantastic weekend of learning, fun and friendship. We absolutely loved having you here!

Happy International Dog Day!

I made this wee cutie over the weekend, and I absolutely loved making her!

Tracy Johnson from Designer Cakes was here this weekend sharing her valuable knowledge and skills with us. We had such a fantastic time learning, creating and, of course, laughing the whole weekend!

It was an amazing weekend of cake, creativity and friendship.

It’s always a pleasure to create a wedding cake for a couple for their special day.

Samantha and Quinn were married at the beautiful The Hideaway 201 on Friday, and we were delighted to create their wedding cake.

Their three-tiered cake featured:
Our signature chocolate cake with cookies ’n’ cream filling
Lemon cake with homemade raspberry compote and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream
Chocolate cake with our delicious Whittaker’s chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream

The cake was finished with a layer of ganache and Bakels Pettinice fondant for a beautiful, smooth finish.

The Hideaway 201 is a stunning wedding venue, and the celebration was beautifully catered by the amazing MASH Catering Limited.

Congratulations, Samantha and Quinn! We wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this golf bag cake, which had to travel all the way to Queenstown for the party.

The cake was our signature chocolate cake with cookies-and-cream filling, finished with chocolate ganache and black Pettinice leather-look fondant.

I hand-moulded the zips to add movement and hand-cut the TaylorMade lettering. The cake was completed with golf clubs, golf balls, tees and a 65 flag.

I really enjoyed all the little details on this one

A stunning cake for Janika's special birthday!

This beautiful two-tier cake featured our signature chocolate cake filled with berry filling, alongside vanilla cake layered with lemon curd and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream.

The cake was finished with matching chocolate ganache, painted night-sky fondant, and handcrafted decorations, including flowers, stars, a crescent moon, and planets, creating a Matariki design.

I have had hundreds of cake requests, but this one was a first. It was for Anna’s uncle, who was turning 72 and a huge train enthusiast. Anna asked me to replicate the Women’s Weekly Train cake from the 1980’s Women’s Weekly book. Such a classic.

I also have a newfound respect for 80’s mums who made this cake. Getting the sides square was not easy.
