It was my daughter’s birthday a few weeks ago.
I asked her what kind of cake she wanted.
At first it was Demon Hunters, which I was stoked about. I had creative license to make this her dream cake.. I looked for glitterballs and watched inspiration videos and almost had a plan. Almost.
Then one day she woke up and decided she actually just wanted a strawberry cake.
But what do you mean just a strawberry cake?
Literally just a strawberry themed cake.
Strawberry inside the cake. And strawberries on the cake too.
Cool! I can do that.
So what did I do? Made a vanilla cake, added in a few heaped tablespoons of strawberry purée into the mixture. Also added it into the buttercream and then sprinkled fresh diced strawberries inside each layer.
With the help of , I could whip down quickly to see their huge selection of strawberry lollies and then we had the outside ones sorted!
To top it off, saved the day with their custom cake topper.
Overall she was one happy little girl and I got to practice a new recipe so I was happy too.
Mixed reviews from the kids who are now becoming food critics in their own right 😅
