Cook Book Challenge #14 Welllll..... almost lost for words with this one🤔 The book..Rick Steins food hero's.. another helping..The recipe ..Venison steaks au provide with beetroot & horseradish WOW!!!! This would work just as well with a good steak but the venison is cooked fairly rare( just how I like it) the jus is phenomenal and compliments the venison beautifully. The beetroot compliments the venison beautifully and a great kick with the horseradish.
I also went back to the Pasta Homestyle book and made the Fettuccine with Zucchini. An easy peasy dish with 5 ingredients and the fried basil leaves as a garnish is well worth it. I surprised myself.on this one.😂😂
Have a great evening

Cook book challenge # 12 today the book of choice is The Best of Annabel Langbein Great Food for Busy Lives. The recipie.. Harvest Salad of Roasted Beets, Walnuts & Onions with herbed Cheese Croutons. Not a difficult recipe but my dad gave me some home grown beetroot so it only seemed fitting to showcase this vege. This would be great as a main or as a starter. You could also add chopped cooked bacon rashes mmmm delicious. It is also dressed with a pesto dressing which gives it a fresh zing.
The accompaniment for this dish was out of Wednesdays book Delicious Slow, and it was Steak with wild mushroom sauce... absolutely beautiful...
Have a great weekend😊

Cook hook challenge #10. This is a we bite of a book and there are loads of amazingly delicious recipes hidden in the pages. Today's we number is a Babotie. Allegedly originating from either Malaysia or Indonesia as it has a curry aspect.
It is bloody delicious, mince, onion, garlic, tomato paste, curry pad, apricot jam!🤔 and sultanas soaked in brandy!! Covered in a delicious creamy eggy type custard🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 why wouldn't you??
This dish was so easy and a great make ahead dish that you can finish off later. We all know mince is always better the next day and this dish wouldn't disappoint.
Have a great evening😊👩‍🍳

Cook book challenge #10..The winning book today is Rick Stein Seafood.. I have had this book for nearly 20 years and looking through it I can't understand why I haven't cooked out of it sooner. There are a lot of step by step guides of how to prepare and cook loads of different seafood dishes. Hmmmmmm.
The recipe of choice is Rice shaped pasta with seafood, rocket and roasted vegetables.
It would be excellent for a gathering as it makes a substantial amount so if you love seafood this is the one for you. Fresh flavours, loads of texture and you cold really change this one up. Definately a remake. I will be visiting this book again to sample others out of this book.
Have a great evening😊🐟

Cookbook challenge #9 The Book today is actually one I cooked out of last week. Off the shelf. Cooking from the pantry Donna Hay. The recipe: Tomato and basil poached fish and this was a must try and to be honest I was not disappointed. It's not often I cook something and say "I would pay for that" but this little taste bud sensation blew it out of the water. 7 ingredients and 20 minutes later.. in my belly. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. That little recipe will feature on the menu again. Have a great evening and keep dry😊🌧
