Hi everyone, today we found a termination notice posted on the inside of our shop. Our doors are closed.

Truth is sales have fallen majorly since the mosque attack. We have tried our best to keep going despite the rising tide. The shop was owned by an understanding landlord who had understood the difficulties faced by ethnic supermarkets and had let us negotiate the lease. He had subsequently sold the building and the new landlord is based in Auckland. The lockout happened on Friday night. It is unlikely we can get in touch with anyone until Monday.
Even then, it is unlikely that the new landlord would be interested in anything we would have to say.

That aside, if you are reading this post, liked our page, walked into our store are a regular or casual customer we want to thank you. It would have been impossible to be open as long as we have without you guys. Thank you for supporting our store and the minority community of Christchurch. We are 💔 that we are looking at closing the doors of our family store and losing that connection with you. It's been a pleasure serving you and the community.

Its likely that we will have access for 24 hours to clear out our stock and equipment. We will be happy to give our food away to anyone who comes to see us to have a chat or if you are an organisation that gives food to the needy please let us know. We will put out another post to let everyone know our last day on premises.

We are sorry to let everyone down. 😢
