Here are some photos from the first test run of cupcake decorating classes. Was such a great night. Had so much fun. Was wonderful to see people create something beautiful. From this to that...
Taking photos of cakes and cupcakes in the light they deserve- there's a lot more than meets the eye!! Usually it's not this dramatic but on this particular night our usual spot was way too dark so we rigged up this back drop etc in the kitchen. Poor Bella held up the black back drop for a solid 15 mins while I tweaked the cupcakes and took a thousand photos, adjusted angles, tweaked the cupcakes a little more and took another thousand photos!! Then we scrutinise the pics and find the best ones and scrutinise a little more then we edit: crop, play with lighting, colours and contrasts until we finally have a headshot a model would be proud of!! Although it is time consuming and we don't always have time to do a full photo shoot before a cake needs to be delivered or collected. But when we do have time, we do it right!!

Side note: these cupcakes weren't for anybody in particular so don't fret about the standing on the bench business (it's definitely not a common occurrence!!)

I got this awesome cupcake stand from an awesome friend for Christmas and finally got to give it a spin (pun fully intended) isn't it gorgeous?!? I love the carnival striped cupcake cups and star toppers too. Just makes it feel all the more like a carnival! Squeee! So much fun in one place!!

Happy new year everybody!! Hope you've all had fantastic holidays!! Can't wait to sink my teeth into the awesome challenges this year is going to bring. All the possibilities and opportunities that that this year will bring. I'm so excited for all of it!! But let's take a second to reflect... I've learnt so much in 2015. I've grown as both a cake maker and a person and I'm so thankful for all the lessons 2015 has taught me. I'm also thankful for all the support I've had from all 500+ of my followers... None of this would have been possible without you guys, so a big, massive thanks to each and everyone of you for making my 2015 awesome!!
I've put together a little collage of my favourite cakes from last year so that when I do it again next year I can compare and see how far I've gone and how much I've learned. I haven't set any New Years resolutions as of yet so maybe you guys could help me out a little.... Do you have any suggestions for me?
