๐Life update๐
Hey cookie people! It's been quiet on here for the last few months as I took some time off to get through the last weeks of a difficult pregnancy and then enjoy life with a newborn. Our 3rd daughter has joined our family late August and we are all smitten. Life is good โค
During these months, I have also taken time to reevaluate and think about goals and plans for our family and the time has come to share this with you all. If you're not into long, sentimental, wordy posts, skip ahead to the end. ๐
I never expected The Sound of Cookie to turn into the business that it grew into over the course of 2+ years. What began as just something that kept me sane during lockdown, quickly developed into a business that grew beyond my wildest expectations. Honestly, I was the last person to see this coming. My order books were usually filled at least 3 months in advance, I think the furthest away booking I ever took was 9 months in advance (I did not even have the calendar for the following year yet!)
Easter, Christmas and Paint Your Own were so popular, I regularly sold out in only a couple hours and my husband completed a book keeping course in order to be able to help and do my finances. It quickly became a family project and I took many decorating and marketing classes to further grow the business.
The pregnancy with our 3rd child forced me to slow down and made me realise that, in order to keep up with the bookings, I had spent many hours late into the night and weekends decorating, leaving not much time for family. Life since birth has changed immensely and priorities have shifted - as they do, with a baby and two other kids who, yet older, still need their Mama and her full attention.
I have, therefore, made the difficult decision to not come back into the Cookie World but concentrate on being the best Mum I can be to my girls. I am so immensely grateful to each and every one of you who over the past 2 years has ordered and supported my business. All my late nights aside, this simply would not have happened without you guys. I've met some incredible people through being a cookier and honestly, it was SUCH an honour to be part of so many baby showers, weddings, birthdays etc. Caution - most emotional sentence of the post ahead: These two years will forever hold a special place in my memory.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. โค
