I was asked by a good friend Michelle (awesome name 🙂😉) to make a Spidey and his Amazing Friends themed cake for her grandson’s 5th birthday.
She didn’t really give me much direction except that it needed to be funfetti and big - a 10” cake big!
I decided to revisit a ‘viral trend’ from 2019/2020 - the fault line cake and place edible images of Spidey and friends in the fault line.
I also added a backdrop with the birthday boys name under some flashing lights (because kids love stuff like that 🙂). My refrigerator looked stunning while waiting for cake pick up 😀 (slightly blurry video in comments).
To the side are chocolate balls with Skittles inside and a mini Spiderman figure.
I also added some pop art style onomatopoeic words and did the base trim with bubblegum balls.

I was well overdue to get my ute groomed and my son, Scotty, recommended CarBuffs Autospa.
Went along and spoke with Jamie who said he couldn’t do my job because he loves cake and would eat it all. 😂
Was so delighted with my beautifully shiny clean ute, I gave Jamie a box of chocolate cupcakes.

A bit late posting as I’ve been making fondant toppers.
These cakes were to celebrate a 65th birthday.
One was chocolate and one was banana.
The patterned edible cake wrap represents tapa which is a non woven fabric made from plant bark (often the paper mulberry tree inner bark).
Artisans soak the inner bark strips in water and beat them with wooden mallets on an anvil until the fibres flatten and widen into sheets.
Tapa cloth is vital for marking major life events, including weddings, funerals, and high-ranking chiefly investitures. It is kept as treasured family heirlooms and exchanged as formal wealth, dowries, or diplomatic gifts during community gatherings.

It is a lady’s prerogative to decide that after a particular number of birthdays has been celebrated, she will not acknowledge any advancements. She will remain at her chosen birthday. 🙂😉👍

Charlie, from Procter Trucking in Picton, was celebrating a 60th birthday.
His partner, Lou, decided he needed a truck and trailer unit birthday cake.
The truck was lemon cake and the trailer was chocolate cake.
I’m told he was both surprised and delighted 🙂

Who remembers the first Transformers movie way back in 2007?
I certainly do, it was a massive commercial hit being the 5th highest grossing movie of 2007 and winning a number of Academy Awards.

I think we all loved Bumblebee; his bumbling attempts at matchmaking, his bravery in battle and his big heart.
The Transformers movie is now 19 years old. In 2018, the movie Bumblebee was released - I loved that one too.

Being a fan, I was delighted when I got a request for a chocolate Bumblebee transformer cake for Atarangi’s 5th birthday.

Of course it had to be yellow and feature wheels (chocolate), fondant cogs and I stencilled some tyre tracks around the back of the cake - not seen in the photo. I decided Bumblebees bright blue eyes deserved to light up on the cake.

Quite surprising when I turned, while working on another cake, to see blue eyes watching me from the box 😂

I saw a photo from Atarangi’s birthday and it appears he had an awesome celebration.
