Were Bros Limited Carter's Organic Sprouted Bread and Carter's Organic Seeded Sourdough. Available by the slice and the loaf. I make all my bread on site in small batches.

Were Bros is located at 480 Richmond Road in the West Lynn Shops. My friend Sophie also runs her business from here, Muck Floral and general store. She is a florist and sells beautiful ceramics and other things she has sourced from NZ and Australia. I make two types:
Organic Seeded Sourdough Bread
Organic Sprouted Buckwheat Bread (gluten free). These are both available by the slice or by the loaf. The name Were Bros is taken from my great great great granddads company, who made soft drinks in Christchurch in the 19th century. My dad likes to collect the old bottles, which is where I got my logo. Open 8-4 Thursday & Friday

A little time away in Greece with Soph, slowing down and enjoying being together. We were always reaching for something from this bag for our face, body or hair. I think these are the things I love most about being in Greece. Swimming in the sea every day, my little room, jumping off the rocks, simple food, eating with friends, long days and all the people I’ve met along the way. I love taking photos to remember it all, but it’s usually the people I meet and all moments in between that stay with me the most 💙

I’ve known Soph for a long time now. She was the girlfriend of one of my good friends from NZ, who I moved over to Sydney with when I was 19. We haven’t always lived in the same place, but when I was 25 we were both living in NZ and she proposed that I come and share a shop with her. We ran separate businesses from the same little space and somehow it worked, even though she’s a florist and I had a cafe.

Since then we’ve both moved back to Australia but live in different towns and have 5 kids between us. No matter how long it is between seeing each other, we have the best time. We are always there for each other and don’t take life too seriously, even though life becomes more serious as we get older. I’m proud of her. She is creative, confident and courageous, which makes me feel the same.

I’m eternally grateful for our friendship. So many people tell us we look like sisters (I think it’s our big mouths lol), but we are.

Also if you have kids (or don’t), go away with your friends when you can. Have fun, stay up late, meet new people. It’s been so good to remember ourselves again. I love you Sophie Wolanski 💙
