Hi again, everyone! Since people have been asking, I wanted to give a final update on the future of the bakery. The building at 104 Lervikvein was sold on April 1. The new owner did not want to continue the bakery, and no one had expressed interest in purchasing it. So I have been selling all the equipment and will permanently close the business entity. Hege and I are delighted to have been a part of this community and to have had the opportunity to meet so many of you. We wish you all the best for you and your families. Many have requested recipes, so I will be posting some of the favorites on our website and will let you know when they are posted. Blessings! -pete

Hi Everyone! We have been waiting for the right moment to make an important announcement. The owners of the historic Arvesen building have listed it for sale. At the same time, Hege and I have decided to put the business up for sale (we are relocating to the USA). We have been dreading the announcement because we know this comes as a disappointment. But we hope this will not just be an ending of Fjord Bakehouse, but a new chapter for another family. We will wait to list the business on Finn because we want someone local (perhaps a customer) to have a first look. The bakery is popular and makes a good profit. The business has all the equipment to reopen now. The only issue is that the new owner of Fjord Bakehouse would also need to purchase the building or negotiate a lease with the new building owner.

I have placed a prospectus on our website for the sale of the business, and all that would be included in the sale price. We have been so honored to be a part of the community here and we know we have become a part of your family traditions. Thank you so much for your trust in us and your encouragement all these years. God fredag😊 Bare en liten påminnelse om at dette er sesongens siste helg☺️ Vi har åpent frem til 17.00 i dag og 09.00- 16.00 i morgen. På menyen i dag har vi lyst surdeig, grovt med havre og loff. Av baks har vi ginger molasses cookie, chocolate chip cookie, snicker doodle, kanel snurr, pistasj bolle, scone, muffins og croissant.

Well our summer hours are coming to an end today. Bread rotation is a bit changed because of ingredient issue but you may be pleasantly surprised with a favourite! Solsikke-Linfrø Surdeig and Tysk Landsbrød for specials along with Lys Surdeig and Loff. We will be reopening for Fri-Sat service on August 23.

Rainy day! Yesterday we sold 200% more than last week for the same day 😳😂 Hard to predict, but the weather says a lot. If you came later in the day yesterday to empty bread shelves today is your day. We most likely will have bread until closing. Solsikke-Linfrø Surdeig, Lys Surdeig, and Loff available. Hope you have a cosy day!

Happy Sunday! We are open until 14:00. Summer Hours start on Tuesday July 2. Then we are open Tuesday-Sunday 9-16!

This week we will be closed on Friday as everyone celebrates the 17th of May. But all the other hours will be the same for both Saturday and Sunday. So come by to brighten up your holiday weekend even more :)

Introducing our version of Almond Butterhorn 🥰 Taking inspiration from that I enjoyed growing up... we have adapted our Norwegianish version 😎 Using our Cardemom dough, we fill it with butter, brown sugar, almonds and add a glaze to finish. We hope you enjoy this trial and if it's a hit we may just keep it around. Out of the oven now while they last 👍 Open until 16:00 today.

Well, winter is fighting back but spring will come... sometime 😎. But we are open and ready to serve you today (Fri) from 9-17 and tomorrow (Sat) from 9-16. Today's dark sourdough is Havre and tomorrow Solsikke-linfrø. Wishing you a happy weekend with family and friends. Life is a gift so we celebrate each day 🎉🙌🥳
