I started selling pastries on August 12, and in the last five months of 2023, I had 4 pop-ups, with 2 being completely sold out. I partnered with 2 selling points, including the cutest Crêperie at Klosteret, which opened on December 1.

Since August, I’ve sold 169 pastries, with 130 of them sold in December alone! December was busy but definitely fun. I rewarded myself with a break and spent the first week of the new year in Berlin, where I got tons of inspiration.

With this post, I simply want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU 🤍 to everyone following and supporting this project, and to those who bought pastries. The journey of La Pomme has been incredible so far, and it’s all thanks to you 🫶🏽

I wish I could say that being vegan in Bergen is easy. Once you’ve tasted all the places with vegan options, you run out of new choices. It can be challenging when you want to eat out with non-vegan friends and family who are eager to try the latest trendy restaurant. You always have to check beforehand if they offer a vegan option. And it's not just about finding any vegan option; you're also seeking delicious, tasty food.

The same goes for the festive season, filled with gatherings and traditional dishes that add extra magic to celebrations. For me, a pack of cookies and ice cream didn’t cut it for more than one season.

It was my desire for a good-looking and delicious dessert at celebrations that led me to start baking seven years ago. Along the way, family and friends tested my desserts. Someone even said, ‘I remember when everything you baked tasted like plastic.’ Thankfully, I'm stubborn and didn’t give up. Knowing that others face the same challenges, I started La Pomme.

While I'm unsure if Bergen will offer more diverse and good vegan options in the future, for now, I'll do my best to create aesthetic and tasty vegan desserts for those tired of the same old cookies and ice cream

Ramène ta pomme ! 🫶🏽

It means « bring your apple». The original expression in French is «Ramène ta fraise» (not pomme) which literally means «bring your strawberry» but it is used to say «come and join us».

In other words you are invited to La Pomme’s next pop-up at Bergen Fashion Market #19 at Bergen Kjøtt on December 2nd.

How about starting the festive season with secondhand and vintage gems and delicious vegan pastries? And, of course, I’ll bring tasting samples 😏
