I STAND WITH OATLY ― AND SHOULD TOO.
– boycotting Oatly benefits the milk-industry.
I've followed the "case against Oatly" for some time now, and every time I see some company, person or organisation publicly renounce Oatly I get the same feeling:
The milk-industry has the most to win here.
Oatly has been highly successful in targeting the milk-industry with their pro-vegan ads, their anti-cowsmilk ads, how they fight them in lawsuits (even when they loose), and generally with how they talk about plants, nutrients, environment and the animals. The milk-industry is literally shaking in their pants because of the way this giant is showing how a vegan product can take the world by storm.
Boycotting them will at best lead to less campaigns of a similar style in public, thus we're basically doing the animals a disfavor if we join in on the boycott.
Could it even be the milk-industry who started this massive campaign against Oatly? We don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were part of it.
Sure, there are many issues with Blackstone, and we shouldn't greenwash them, but we should let Oatly continue their work - and supporting them in doing it - in making it easier for people to eat more animal-friendly products. After all, that's still their mission.
I STAND WITH OATLY, and proudly so. I hope you will too. Please share if you do.
