⭐ We have some BIG news to share with you all; we have officially sold our company and from now on Sugarlips Cakes will be run by Merel!
I understand that this might be a big surprise to many of you, but it is something that we have been thinking about for almost two years. It was by no means an easy decision as Sugarlips was our baby, but after having our two human babies we realized that our priorities needed to change. This year has been extremely difficult with two little kids at home, which only solidified our decision to focus on our family.
For the remainder of 2021, I will still be running the bakery in Utrecht. I will be finishing up the weddings that were moved from 2020 along with webshop orders, and then I will be saying goodbye to Sugarlips.
It has been such a joy for the last 9 years to run this company and to cater to you all. We have enjoyed it thoroughly and it was such a positive chapter of our lives. We are grateful to all of you who gave us a chance and brought our company to where it is today. We have met so many wonderful people through this journey and have made some amazing friends.
It is hard to say goodbye, but we look forward to this new chapter of our lives! As many of you have seen, Luc has taken on a new position in the HR Services/IT department at PostNL and is transitioning into his new role well. As for me, I will be focusing my creative energy into my new company Olivia & Oliver Fibers while also enjoying a LOT more time at home with our amazing kids! 😊
I don’t think this will be the last you will hear of me on here, but I would like to officially hand the reins over to Sugarlips Cakes new owner, Merel! We are incredibly grateful to have found someone so talented and passionate to take over our company and know that Sugarlips is in good hands. Merel has run her own wedding cake company for six years now and has also taken on many weddings since her time at Sugarlips. We look forward to seeing the company continue under Merel and we know that this new surge of energy will only do great things for Sugarlips Cakes!
