- LAST WEEK FOR BRÖD -
My dear friends, I have some big (and sudden) news to share with you. I'm closing down the bakery and this week (Thursday & Friday) will be my last week open. Why, you may wonder?
The reason is that I'm pregnant, and the early mornings (03:30!) and hard physical work that it means to run a bakery by myself is not doable anymore. That's why I need to shut down with such short notice. Of course, this is very double for me because on the one hand it's very happy news for me and my partner, but on the other hand I will really miss you all! As some of you know, I was in the middle of negotiations for my own shop space. Trust me when I say I have looked at every possible option to still make this a reality - despite the pregnancy - but pile on top of that the continuing rising energy and grain prices and it suddenly felt like an extreme financial and health risk to take right now.
So with that said, I really just want to thank all of you for being so supportive, for coming by every week for some really lovely chats, and for making me feel so very welcome! ❤️ As for what's next, I plan to go back to my previous career in e-commerce for now. Most likely the urge to start baking again will come soon enough and perhaps I will then offer some workshops, or limited homebaking, or something else. So this is not a goodbye, but a see you later. Watch this space :)
And of course, you're very welcome to come by the bakery these last 2 days! Reserving bread is possible, but as always there's a limited supply ;)
