Stean and Mathew embarked on a long flight and spent many hours on the road to visit coffee farms across Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.

Photographer Ralph Durlinger captured the whole journey, and they came home with plenty of stories: about farmers who care deeply for their land, and the flavours they experienced at each place.

What is cupping? Part science, part skill, and a lot of slurping.

It’s a tasting, in which we compare and really get to know a coffee. During a cupping session, our team tries coffees side by side and evaluates what makes each coffee unique.

This process helps us select green beans, provide feedback to our farming stations, develop roast profiles and assess consistency to ensure maximum quality before the coffee reaches your cup!
