✈️ 𝗡𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀
For the Flower Trials, Syngenta Flowers came up with a creative idea: recreating the airport baggage claim experience using WPS automation.

Instead of suitcases, visitors are welcomed by a continuous flow of Syngenta's newest arrivals, showcased on a conveyor system inspired by the luggage belts we all know from the airport.

A clever concept, fun to build, and a great example of how automation can be used in unexpected ways. Most importantly, it creates a unique stage for showcasing beautiful new varieties. 🌸

🏔️ 𝗔 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗙𝗹𝗼 𝟮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀
At Gensetter Topfpflanzen AG in Switzerland, labour availability and the increasing need for efficient internal plant transport were important reasons to invest in automation. With an existing greenhouse area, a new greenhouse expansion, and additional open field production, the grower was looking for one flexible transport solution that could connect and support the entire operation as the business continues to grow.

For Gensetter, WPS designed a complete SmartFlo 2 transport system connecting potting, growing, and delivery areas. Plants now move automatically through the greenhouse, between departments, and even across pathways through tunnels and SmartFlo Crossovers. Reducing unnecessary walking, improving workflow, and creating more flexibility in daily operations.

What makes this solution so powerful for Gensetter is the flexibility and control it offers. Via one central overview on the HMI Control Panel, tablet, phone, or PC, routes can easily be created, adjusted, started, or stopped remotely. Multiple transport routes can even operate simultaneously, fully adapting to the daily needs inside the greenhouse.

And honestly, for our team, working on a project surrounded by the Swiss mountains is not exactly a punishment either. 😉🏔️

Wat kijken we terug op een geslaagde klantendag! Een gezellige en leerzame middag waarin kwekers, partners en het WPS-team samen in gesprek gingen over de toekomst van de tuinbouw bij NON Burgersdijk.

Mooi om te zien hoe kwekers ervaringen uitwisselden, uitdagingen bespraken en elkaar inspireerden. De workshops zorgden voor waardevolle gesprekken en nieuwe ideeën.

Tijdens de workshop van Michael en Dylan dachten deelnemers na over hun kas van de toekomst. Waar wil je als bedrijf over een aantal jaar staan? Welke stappen kun je vandaag al zetten om daar te komen? En hoe kan WPS je daarbij ondersteunen?

Ook Edwin Huybers van Optimize by Nexus zette de aanwezigen aan het denken. Automatisering is een krachtig middel, maar de grootste resultaten ontstaan wanneer processen, bottlenecks en groeikansen vooraf goed in kaart worden gebracht.

At Gartenbau Op de Laak, automation is all about flexibility. Following a recent renewal of their older houses, the grower now operates 2 hectares of greenhouse area.

This flexibility is not only visible in daily operations, but also in the way the system grows along with the business. By expanding the system to the new greenhouse section, the entire greenhouse integrates seamlessly with the existing WPS systems.

One key advantage according to Kevin op de Laak: Maximum flexibility in daily operations and for future growth.

When the system at hydrangea grower The Mastergrowers became operational, the WPS team decided to add a small, playful touch: a custom traffic sign warning for “crossing hydrangeas.” 🛑🚸

What started as a joke turned into a real news item on local news platform WOS, as the story was picked up by regional media. And while the sign may raise a smile, there is a practical story behind it.

Thanks to automation, plants are now transported via conveyor belts, crossing paths between greenhouses through bridges and tunnels. What used to be manual and labour-intensive is now a smooth, efficient flow. And yes, at one point… it really does look like the hydrangeas are crossing the road.

Op 11 en 12 april is het weer zover: dé kans om zelf de wondere wereld achter het glas te ontdekken.

In maar liefst 15 regio’s openen kwekers hun deuren. En extra leuk: bij verschillende deelnemers kun je ook WPS systemen in actie zien bij onze klanten, zoals FidaFleur, Van Winden BV, Willem Kuipers BV en Kwekerij Vlasman.

When our sales engineers visited Groene Tint, they walked alongside the existing WPS buffer together with owner Stefan Groenewegen. During the visit, he shared a statement that says it all:
“In thirteen years of operation, I have never had to replace a belt and the system has never experienced downtime.” A remark he shared with visible pride.

The system in place is a WPS Plant Order System with an integrated buffer, designed for accurate sorting, calm logistics, and continuous availability. It supports daily operations by creating overview, reducing manual handling, and ensuring plants are always ready for delivery.

Feedback like this confirms why we keep improving, optimising, and building forward on proven solutions. A satisfied grower, a reliable system, and a greenhouse that simply keeps running.
