De Hôn and Het Oerd nature reserves are home to fantastic flora and fauna, and the island has a rich history of whaling and merchant shipping. My parents bought "De Borch" back in 1979, the place is very dear to me and I've grown very fond of the island, which I consider to be my second home. It's the place where I recharge my batteries. There are not even traffic lights... ;-)
