If you’ve been here for a while, you would’ve known by now that my favorite artist is Ric Hassani 🫢❤️

I listen to his songs at work, while baking, on the road, all day, everyday! ☺️

I love him 🫢 however, due to my chronic singleness syndrome, his lyrics have started to make me laugh and annoy me at the same time 😂😂I feel extremely amused and irritated by his love songs which is crazy because what’s going on? I used to be a lover girl 😂😂😂

He has a hit song titled ‘Number one’
I used to love it before. Whenever I’m on night shifts those days I used to dance to it, but now listening to the lyrics annoy me instead:😂

“I love you like there’s no tomorrow 🎶
Anywhere you go I’d follow 🎶
I’d give you my heart, give you my soul, take away all your sorrows🎶”

😂😂😂😂

You people that believe in love are very funny. One person will come into your life and take away all your sorrows? Even Jesus Christ, after he died for us, we still have plenty sorrows 😭One cup of garri is still 500 naira 😩😩

I think government should ban love songs!!! And we should be given legal authority to pour people in relationship spit anytime we see them😂🫢

Hi guyssss.. I’m so sorry I left you guys for so long. I’d try and be more consistent I promise 🥹

Today, someone paid me for a cake and I was just randomly reminiscing on the days when I prayed to be here 🥹 Days when i wouldn’t get orders for huge cakes because people didn’t really know me. So I was selling small foil cakes instead. I just finished from school, and was waiting for my induction. Instead of me to stay idle at home, I started hustling like a thief 😂

There’s no group chat for marketing your products in this port harcourt that I did not join. Before you open the group chat I’m already there 😂😂 I will post 7 times a day, you’d think I’m an orphan😂😂

Then, people wouldn’t want to buy a little foil cake of 2,000 and pay huge delivery fees. So because I was desperate to sell, I would offer to deliver it myself at a lower amount😂😂There’s no place in this PH I did not go to deliver cake 😂😂Thinking about it now it’s crazy, because the profit from the cake is not even up to the money I’d use to drink mineral on the road 😂😂😂After baking, I’d start going round PH to deliver.

From there, people who ate my foil cakes and loved it would pay me to make birthday cakes for them and that’s how I started building till this point where I have a loyal customer base🥹

I’m still building but it’s just beautiful to see how much growth can come from just being consistent 🥹🥹

I’m grateful for God’s grace and I’m hoping for more growth in the future 🥹

Of course, I wouldn’t just post this gorgeous jpegs of my products, I’d drop a thought alongside 😅

It's been a year since I graduated from university, and I've come to realize that something's missing - the friendships, social life, and human interaction. We had so much happiness then but now it just feels… different🥹

Life after school is so monotonous and boring: work, home, repeat. My hot oven and spatula are my closest friends😂

In uni, we could easily join differ f social groups and organizations, make friends from basically everywhere (class, church, even on the road). We had a lot of social events to attend (class picnics, movie night, church festivities)

In real life, it feels like there’s no provision for a social life. Just work, bills and loneliness 😩We think our phones and the internet fill the void. But if we’re really honest, they don’t!😢Have you ever pressed your phone and then you still long for human company because you don’t know what else to press again? 😂

I wish we had social groups outside the university, where people could meet, make friends and have fun! Especially for us in the medical field😩 We need it like yesterday! 😂

If you know any groups in Port Harcourt, plug me in! 🥹🥹 I don tire to be furniture for house 😂Even my oven hates to see me coming 😂😂

Growing up, I used to think my mum was funny for going to the village ever year for august meeting😂 but now I realize it was just a way for them to socialize and make themselves happy 🥹 I wish they have august meeting for young girls where I can go, sing and dance then drag for food afterwards, while struggling with my wrapper and gele😂😂😂

Tips to getting a crusty and flaky meatpie🫢

-Add cold water to your dough (according to your recipe).
-Keep your butter/shortening cold, if possible.
-make sure you egg wash before you put it into the oven and halfway through the baking process.
-Don’t overmix your dough and allow it to rest for a while(you can refrigerate before you knead)
- Don’t overfill your meatpie. Give it space to rise.

Heyyyy sweet people… long time. 😂

It’s been a rollercoaster for me🥹

Of course, I’d share with y’all cos you guys are all I have🫢

…for now (until I get a husband😂…. *Laughs in chronic singlehood😂😂😂)

So i learnt a valuable lesson this weekend. I had a lot of jobs to do last week and I was sooo strained. Here was what my routine looked like:

I’d go to work. Attend to loads of patients. The few times I manage to catch a break, I’d be on my phone trying to take note of all the orders I have and all the ingredients I need to restock. Then, I’d head home after work, stop at the baking store, spend some good money on baking supplies😂, get home, start baking, sleep by 12pm or 1am, wake up by 5am, decorate my cakes (or round up my pastries), head to work by 8am.

Rinse and repeat 😂

After three days, I started to feel extremely lightheaded. I have an assistant who is so good at her job (love her so much 🥹❤️) yet the stress was still counting on me. Then the headaches started. I knew I needed to take a break.

But then again, I live with my family. 😂

I only have peace when I’m in my studio baking. Once I decide it’s time to have a nice, quiet rest, my youngest sister would also decide that that’s the perfect time for her to excercise her vocal chord by screaming my baby brother’s name at the top of her lungs at close distance to my room, intentionally ensuring that I am abruptly jolted back to the reality that you can never have peace in an african home 😂

Whenever she screams, I’d wake up, sit on my bed and think of my life for two hours straight.😂

Then I decided enough is enough!😂 I’m a career woman so I have right to sleep and rest 😂So I decided to go to my immediate younger sister’s house where I can have peace of mind and rest, since I didn’t have any jobs this weekend.

So I got to my sister’s place: nice, petite self contain. When I entered, I took a deep breath. Finally, some solitude 😂 I spread on the bed! Time for me to have my desired rest!!😌

Ironically, after a few hours, I started to feel bored and lonely😂😂 my sister wasn’t around so everywhere seemed so cold and quiet. No one to talk to. Nothing to do. I started missing the hustle and bustle of my family house 😂😂😂

Would you guys believe that the next day, I packed my things and went back home? Shamefully, if I may add, like the prodigal son😂😂

The lesson I learnt is; wherever you are, appreciate it. The place you think is better, also has downsides too!

So it’s 12:25am while I’m typing this and I’m up baking 😂(tales of a career woman😂)

Ordinarily I love sleep. So it’s actually really crazy that I happily stay up to bake. Like I enjoy doing it 😂 I don’t even battle sleep even after a long day at the hospital. All I need is some good music playing in the background and I can bake 7 million cakes without feeling a single ache, whilst I’m twisting my waist to the rhythm of the music 😂😂

(My favorite artist btw is Ric Hassani. I always listen to his songs while baking. He makes me want to believe in love again😂)

Sometimes even after baking, I’d lie on my bed and force myself to sleep yet sleep won’t come.

What’s that big ‘effizy’ english y’all call it again? 😂

Aha! Insomnia 😂
