Sometimes, I scroll through my old baking pictures and pause for a moment. Not just because of how the my work looks, but because I remember the person I was when I made it.

I remember the learning process. The countless trials. The recipes that didn’t turn out exactly as planned. The moments I questioned myself. The times I had to start over, learn something new and try again.
Baking was never just about mixing ingredients and decorating cakes for me. It became a journey of patience, creativity, consistency and courage.

There were days when I wondered if this business would really become something. Days when the orders were slow. Days when I had to encourage myself to keep showing up. But little by little, one customer, one cake, one order and one experience at a time, I kept growing.

Looking at this throwback today, I may see an old works, but I also see growth. 🥹

I’m someone that loves good food. Not just food… quality food.
But if I’m being honest, I used to feel too tired to cook most times. The nature of my work drains me, and living alone makes it easy to say, “I’ll just buy something outside.” After all, it’s just me.

Then I noticed something.
There’s this neighbour guy of mine. No matter how late he gets back from work even 10pm , tired, stressed, ? he will still enter the kitchen and cook his own food.
And it moved me.
I asked myself, “If he can do this consistently, what’s my excuse?”
That was the shift.

I started cooking my own meals more intentionally. Not just because of discipline, but because I want to be sure of what I’m eating. These days, you really don’t know how some foods are prepared outside. The kind of water used, the spices, the hygiene… we see the environment, yes. But what about the inner kitchen? Were you there when it was cooked?
Exactly.

And because I love things natural, I started enjoying my food even more. Ginger. Garlic. Turmeric. Curry. Local spices. Simple, clean ingredients. No unnecessary additives. Just real food nourishing my body.
With the way health issues are rising, especially kidney-related problems, you really have to be intentional about what you consume. Nobody will care for your body the way you should.
Now? I rarely buy food outside. Only on rare occasions.

And honestly… I love this new version of me.
There’s something beautiful about coming home tired and still choosing to take care of yourself. It feels responsible. It feels grown. It feels intentional.
Soft life, but with sense.
And I’m proud of that.
