The reason why some customers or bakers want their cakes to last for months or a year is what I am still trying hard to understand.
Cakes are considered perishable goods, and best enjoyed within a few days of baking. Prolonged storage of cakes can leads to a decrease in quality, flavor and freshness as well as potential health risks due to growth of bacteria and molds.
I don’t see a reason why we should be storing cakes for months with the presence of a whole “lot” of artificial preservatives that can link to health problems such as cancer.
We have natural preservatives that can be used to preserve cakes too even tho can not be used to preserve cake for too long but at least for weeks which is the advisable duration to consume a baked goods like ascorbic acid, citric acid, Lemon juice and so on
I know some people will say what about all those castle cakes or 10 tiers cakes and so on, that shouldn’t be an excuse because there is an opportunity of using dummy for some of the tiers which the remaining can be cake that they can consume at the party and the rest of the cake will be for the couples or so which they will be able to consume within few days or weeks also.
Eat fresh cakes, try new flavors, try different fillings, hop on top notch frosting and lastly prioritize your health.
CAKES ARE ALSO FOOD THAT SHOULD BE CONSUMED ON TIME, DON’T PUT YOUR HEATLH IN JEOPARDY!!!
