WHAT'S ONE BIGGEST WEAKNESS YOU BUSINESS GAVE YOU BUT YOU OVERCAME IT?
One of my biggest weakness i overcame in business was costing.
Honestly, costing dealt with me a lot. If I had known what I know now about costing back when i started, things would have been completely different.
I’m not good at mathematics and I’m not ashamed to admit it. But one thing about me is that whatever I set my heart on, I’ll always achieve it. I knew that if I wanted my business to grow and not shut down, I needed to master costing.
When I finished learning baking, my tutor didn’t cover the costing part, so I had to teach myself. I paid for online classes one from a top baker who charged N17,000 for the class and N5,000 for a costing template. Even after that, I still wasn’t understanding it fully, so I paid for another class for N9000.
Different teachers, different methods but I was determined to learn. I went on to use Meta AI to help me break the teaching, I started using them to practice costing, calculate prices, and track my expenses.
Let me tell you, business mathematics is no joke. Keeping records, tracking income and expenses, managing invoices it’s a lot! But if you don’t understand how your money moves in and out, then you need to start doing that!
Over time, with consistency and tougher learning, I got better. Now I can confidently do my costing without help from anyone not even ChatGPT or Meta AI😌
That’s one area I struggled with the most, but today it’s one of my strengths.
