MEATPIE RECIPE
This particular measurement will give you 12 - 24 pieces of Meatpie depending on the size of Meatpie cutter you use
Ingredients needed
750g of Flour
300g of Margarine
500g of diced cooked beef
500g of neatly diced Irish potatoes
500g of neatly diced carrots
Spring onions (desired quantity)
1 tablespoon of Baking powder
Pinch of Salt
Spices (1 seasoned cube, thyme,curry,ginger,garlic,tumeric)
Chopped Bell pepper
Chopped Red pepper
Warm water
Extra flour
Extra margarine for frying
1 Egg
Tools needed:
Round big cutter
Meat pie cutter
Brush for egg washing
Parchment paper
Baking tray
Procedure
For the Meatpie fillings:
1) Boil the meat and add the spices ,Then dice it when it cooks
2) dice the carrot ,Irish potatoes, onions, spring onions and bleach them in a bowl by adding very hot water which will cover them and add 1 tablespoon of Baking Powder and soak for 5 mins,Then sift them out in a sieve
3) Add little margarine and fry the bleached carrot,Irish potatoes, spring onion,onions and add the chopped pepper and bell pepper ,stir and add little salt and seasoned cubes and keep stiring
4) sprinkle little flour and warm water to the fried veggies just to make it moist
5)then remove from heat and allow to cool
Part B.. Forming the Meatpie dough
1) sift flour into a bowl and add the margarine and Mix with your hands till it mixes well by rubbing in method
2) then add very cold water and pinch of salt
3)knead the dough and allow to set for 5 mins
4) then roll out the dough and cut out into round shapes, Then put each circles into the Meatpie cutter, scoop in fillings and the rub water to seal it and the cut off the excess dough with the Meatpie cutter and get the desired Meatpie shape
5) then add parchment paper to the baking tray and Put all the cut meatpies neatly arranged on it
6) Then whisk your egg and use brush ,dip in and rub on all the ready to bake meatpies (this is the egg wash process)
7)Preheat the oven for 15mins
8)then bake for 45 mi
