"Bisi, you’re always baking for everyone. Why not turn it into something serious?”
That was what her neighbor told her one hot afternoon.
Bisi smiled and waved it off.
“Serious ke? I just like making small chin chin and cupcakes. Besides, where will I get the money to start?”
At the time, things were tough.
Her husband’s salary barely covered rent and food. School fees were approaching, and every day felt like a silent prayer for something to change.
One evening, her daughter came home from school and said softly,
“Mummy, my teacher said I should bring ₦2,500 tomorrow for our excursion.”
Bisi nodded and smiled.
“Okay, my dear."
But later that night, after everyone had slept, she sat on the edge of the bed and cried.
Not because ₦2,500 was too much. But because she was tired of always wondering where the next money would come from.

The same woman who once cried over ₦2,500 now had people calling her every week for cakes and pastries.
