THE HISTORY/NEED
It has been observed for a long period of time that the concept of talent has been greatly misunderstood, misinterpreted and misused. A great number of people have streamlined the concept of talent to few abilities that are perhaps being celebrated, to make it seem as if these few talents are the only existing talents in the world. As a matter of fact, the media has not helped ma
tters because they focus so much on these talents while neglecting other viable and lucrative talents. Whereas, it’s a proven fact that these media celebrated talents were not so lucrative several decades ago until some people saw the potentials in it, meaning that other unknown talents and abilities are viable and profitable as well, only if people can see the prospects and possibilities it entails. As a result of these misconceptions, so many young people have shifted focus on discovering their true abilities which they are naturally supposed to and designed to be dexterous and proficient in, to chase after the media hyped talents, thereby creating chaos among the young people, resulting into a “rat race syndrome”, where everyone chases after a piece of cake, including those have no business being there, while some others have abandoned their talents, visions, ideas and dreams to chase after vain ambitions; looking for quick fixes; no matter how irksome and obnoxious it might be. On the other hand, so many people do not know that they are talented and gifted. This is an anomaly that must be corrected which is why a forum such as this has been created.
