HAPPY NEW MONTH, NIGERIA 🇳🇬❤️
As we step into the month of June, my heart is heavy.
Every day, we wake up to heartbreaking news. Another family mourning a loved one. Another community living in fear. Another innocent life lost to kidnapping, banditry, accidents, violence, hunger, or circumstances beyond their control.
Nigeria is hurting.
Many people leave their homes every morning not knowing if they will return safely. Parents are afraid for their children. Children are afraid for their parents. Businesses are struggling to survive. Young people are working tirelessly with little to show for it. Dreams are being delayed, opportunities are becoming scarce, and hope sometimes feels difficult to hold on to.
Yet somehow, Nigerians continue to wake up every day and keep fighting.
We keep showing up.
We keep working.
We keep praying.
We keep believing.
To every mother silently crying over her family…
To every father carrying the burden of providing in these difficult times…
To every entrepreneur struggling to keep a business alive…
To every student worried about the future…
To every Nigerian feeling exhausted, frustrated, and discouraged…
Please don’t lose hope.
Your pain is seen.
Your struggles are real.
Your tears matter.
As citizens, we must continue to support one another, look out for our neighbors, speak up against injustice, promote peace, and refuse to allow fear to destroy our humanity. Let us choose kindness over hatred, unity over division, and compassion over indifference.
And to those in positions of leadership, we plead with you.
The people are tired.
We need security.
We need protection.
We need better roads.
We need stable electricity.
We need opportunities.
We need policies that truly improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
Leadership is not about power; it is about service. The cries of the people are getting louder every day. Please listen. Please act. Please remember that behind every statistic is a human life, a family, and a future.
June, be kind to us 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
