LET’S TALK ABOUT THE SOUR TASTE OF YOGURT 👀🥛
One thing about yogurt is… not all sour tastes mean something is wrong 😅
A lot of people assume yogurt has spoiled once it tastes tangy or slightly sour, but that sourness is actually part of what makes yogurt… yogurt. The taste comes from the fermentation process, where good bacteria break down the milk sugar (lactose) into lactic acid.
The longer the fermentation process, the tangier the yogurt becomes. That’s why some yogurts taste mild and creamy while others have a stronger sour kick.
However, there’s a difference between a normal tangy yogurt and one that has actually gone bad. 🚨
Here are a few signs to watch out for:
❌ Swollen pack/container
❌ Unpleasant or sharp offensive smell
❌ Change in color
❌ Mold growth
❌ Extremely watery texture with unusual separation
❌ Strange bitter taste
